  1. That is commonplace, experts have educated me. Maybe a FN 6.0, small chance at just a 5.5 or 5.0. Probably not going to get a 6.5 with all that ink. I think CGC has been pretty consistent with this but don't know.
  2. Thoth, is sending batches into CGC the next step in a (short-term) plan to send them off to one of the auction houses? Or are they slated for boxes in your storage area/comic room? Just curious, I kinda keep an anecdotal count in the back of my mind, plus 1, minus 1. Good luck, nice books, and like your tastes.
  3. Great book shipped quick, thanks Richard. Greg
  4. Mostly Marvel, silver and bronze, handful of slabs, mostly raw and unpressed. Probable start: Fri 9 PM central. For at least an hour. If I don't finish it will carry over into Sat night for the rest. I'll probably leave it open on Sunday, and then ship by Tuesday. At least five dozen items, maybe some sets at the end, a dozen big keys, a dozen minor keys, two dozen nicer copies for 'runs' collectors (Thor, ASM, FF, Avengers), key features on keys tend to be very presentable mid-grades. You can check my last 100 items sold on ebay the past couple of months for a sense of what titles to expect, and my pricing - and I'll probably be below my ebay pricing on most of it. link Not that I'll be listing anything spectacular, but it's a cut above the stuff I was moving on ebay, and I've never offered it there (except I'll be ending three of the listings if unsold and moving them over here at reduced price). Most of the keys worth mentioning: Av 57, X Men 94, Conan 1, MSH 12 and 18, ASM 101, 121, 122 (raw and slabbed each of the last 2), 238 (if can confirm it's still Bronze in '83 like ebay and wikipedia say and not see my thread disappeared), Thor 165, SA 110 (choice of 2, one I'm keeping), ST 110, and more pedestrian but still cool items like high grade Frankenstein 1 9.0-, a few WBN keys (MS2, and #1, 32), and decent presenting lower grade copies of, e.g., ST 135, DD 7, or Cap 110. And a few Thanos items (first couple of apps, etc.). No PMs about the keys, please! I reserve the right to wimp out and not list 'em, however unlikely. Most are in the $14-150 range, but maybe 10 bronze books will dip to $5 - $8 range, so I'll have a cheap shipping alternative (see pic) at $4 up to 10 books (but only up to 6 get the layer of bubble wrap). The Duck, Bat and Garter (1, 2, & 4 books) will NOT be listed, I just like krappy pic in bags. And if you miss this one, I probably have one more similar thread in me (and my boxes), a repeat of 90% of the same keys and new filler like higher grade run issues (probably in four months after I move another few long boxes on ebay and accumulate a stack of 'pulls' of the nicer things).
  5. A couple of weeks ago a boardie sold NM reprints of this book among some other GA reprints, think he still has a copy left. Such a cool book!
  6. Thanks to Rick, I received that top row in the mail this week. Also he sent me most of those Planets in the bottom row and a nice-looking entombed Reform School Girl (it's split/detached but real pretty o/w). I had to send him money to coax him. But still.
  7. Thanks! you guys and Sharon, guess I'm more than dipping my toe into GA.
  8. Great pair of higher grade Tales of Suspense arrived securely and quickly. Great books, thanks Sharon ! Greg
  9. takeit ! Thanks again skypinkblu. I got the two TOS you sent me this week and still need to post a thank you in your 'kudos.' I'll make another donation using jetblue link now for $50.
  10. I've had occasion lately to notice 2 sets in 'copper'. Infinity Gauntlet seems to sell pretty well as a set 1-6, maybe better than breaking out individual copies. NM ish sets have been going around $70, which seems a bit better than individual issues. Don't know the time/$ re: moving individual issues. MSHSW 1-12 also sell pretty well as sets. Recent prices range about $60 - 110 (probably graded in the Fine range at the low price, and saw a 7.0 set sell around $70, and a few "NM" sets ranging from 70 to 110). Probably if the #8 is sold separately, the lot of 1-7, 9-12 would sell slower w/o the key, which might mean you need to sell a bit lower to move it. I've seen the bronze Marvel Presents 3-12 sets range from $30 to 60, depending somewhat on grades. I'd guess w/o the #3 it's a pretty lame set and would be slow mover, although maybe like the #8 in MSHSW, the key issue alone is worth half the set price.
  11. Nice comics and nice scans. Good luck. I like your dad's initials "AL" on backs, pretty cool. Adding grades might help your thread, even if not sure, a rough idea of the grade you used to price them.
  12. When I remember, I'll always gladly violate whatever TERMS of AGREEMENT I made with paypal and offer a 3% discount to buyers who pay with check/mo. I'll take the risk of both happening in sequence, that (1) I'm reported and (2) paypal then terminates me. But as to keeping the discount for myself, never; instead would just raise the price a bit to include fees.
  13. ASM 252 (and much more expensive 300) are extremely popular these days, and NM98 and 87 still seem pretty well represented on Lyria (what people are watching/bidding on).
  14. Already done. ; ) Often they walk the fine line, but just as often their practices are fraudulent, e.g. stating "slight color touch" to describe a whole spine touched up, which any reasonable collector would find a material misrepresentation. Sorry for the strong language.
  15. This seller is a sleazy piece of garbage. I just noticed his new "see full description" scam. Anyone see samco1's thread selling a reprint of ASM 1 but only using the letters GRR to conceal as sleazily as possible the fact it was a reprint? Got over 1500 for it, another jackoff on ebay scamming on folks with just avg intelligence or that don't read carefully or ask enough questions.
