  1. Anyone have any idea what this splash (JIM 103) would go for at AH? Kirby/Stone
  2. Variant was 1:25, so if you find out the print run for the regular cover, you can do your division
  3. Find yourself a really good presser near you.
  4. Yes because CGC has never seen us as ATM machines for the past 20 years...
  5. They have no reason to close it down. When I was working in printing, and we were bought out by RR Donnelley, the talk of the shop was that they bought a company so they could shut it down...it never happened, yet they ended up selling the place, which the new owners just ended up selling it again just recently! Glad i quit 2 years ago
  6. Don't expect to see Moore to be doing any signings
  7. The FF 48 cover is awesome! Just cause it doesn't showcase the character like FF 50 does, doesn't make it terrible. You don't see the Surfer on the cover but it forces you to use your imagination since something big is coming as they all gather and look up to the sky, mixed with the nice brown/black background color. That's what's wrong with today's comics, they don't let the reader use their imagination anymore by using a key scene in the story, but rather just show off the character instead. Which is pretty boring, unless you own the OA.
  8. X-Men cover looks way over inked. What Finch art is his most sought after? Moon Knight?
  9. Sounds like an improper press from too much heat. When the book is laying flat the corner flares upward.
  10. people on the boards don't buy much unless it's some rare golden age book, silver age mega key or just plain dirt cheap that someone can flip for themselves. No one on the boards is buying a X-Men #1 by Jim Lee for a $150 like they do on eBay.
  11. My nephew and brother in law are both accountants for a living
  12. If you spend $1000 on a comic, sell it for $4000, you made $3000 profit. If you stop there, the IRS would tax you on the $3000. However, if you spend $3000 on more comics and stop, you won't have to pay taxes. You're tax bill would be $0.00 and only owe your tax preparer their service fee
  13. Wasn't busy at all, Dealers I talked to wanted to pack up at and go home at 12, it was mainly all $1 books anything significant was overpriced
  14. Correct and a way to avoid paying taxes is to take that profit and buy more comics with it. (No it's not tax evasion) Yes, it's legal.
  15. I see this all the time, All you have to do is hit the opposite side of the slab in the palm of you hand, it'll move back into where it's supposed to be. Don't worry, it won't damage the book inside.
  16. This is just to get outsiders into buying comics
  17. You can't press production creases, the wrinkle is too sharp. When you think of pressing, think of "flattening the book out" That's all pressing does, flattens the book out.
