  1. Funny, I'll live with ow/w but anything below that i'll pass on.
  2. You're looking at a 6 month turnaround time for Moderns, I wouldn't expect hem back until some time in February
  3. It can be thousands of dollars between a 9.6 and a 9.8. The graders determine if it's a 9.8 or not, not the consumer. CGC's submission tiers is based on how fast do you want the book back and how much coverage do you want on the book you're submitting. It shouldn't be up to the graders to decide which book goes with what tier based on how the book graded out, Their job to grade books, not dig into the consumers pocket a little more.
  4. Why bother having Tiers based on the year of the book if the graders going to charge based on what they grade the book at? I've seen moderns get graded only to be bumped up to express cause the graders wanted to dig into the pockets of the customer a little more. Still a modern book and was sent modern, Again the tiers need to be changed, no one want to go to the grocery store, buy a gallon of milk off the shelf that says $3.99 only to have it ring up at the register at $9.95...Would you still want to pay for the milk? Probably not and neither do we. Bait & Switch
  5. Sure they bump you up to a higher tier, but they don't bump you up in terms of turnaround time, I've had books that I've sent in as economy, wait 6 months and get bumped up to Express and have to pay extra. Why is CGC charging more to grade a book, when the customer isn't getting the return service they got charged for? If I'm paying for Express, why or anyone else not getting Express service? It's unfair and bad business practice and needs to be addressed ASAP.
  6. You'd be surprised at how many books have climbed to 10-15K status when no one thought it would, no one can predict what will take off and what won't
  7. 461 is not a lot, In the sportscard world, 461 PSA 10s is considered scarce
  8. What new benefits? I only see them being taken away
  9. Thanks Dan. it's not a "Dan book" but Good PQ, No chipping, good white cover, excellent centering and good price without having to pay taxes/shipping. I'll hang onto it.
  10. Picked this up at a local show today, Got a decent price on it under GPA last sale.
  11. No On site grading and no CGC taking submissions
  12. The rest of your area is into it
  13. it was a typo, I posted a much clearer answer. "Printer's Proofs" is just another term for "Sample Copy" Samples are given to the customer and are made to look perfect.
  14. Depends, there are 2 proofs, There is what's called "Color Keys" or "Go Bys" each shop may have a different terminology but result is the same. The color keys are what the press operator uses and looks at to try and match the color to, ya know, what shade of blue does Marvel want, what shade of red ect... But sometimes they have a sample copy, basically a finished copy that another print shop may have printed that they'll use as the "color key" it also shows the press operator what the customer (Marvel) wants the book to look like in terms of color, register, trim size, ect...basically "Make every book like like this one"
  15. Yes and CGC will still call it a crease/light bend and hammer you on the grade
  16. Comics are trimmed at the printer, not every copy gets a perfect cut. Printing is tough and the paper can be moved while it's being run through the press, slitters that cut the paper can be set up wrong ect...
  17. All the good stuff is sold during dealer set up Thursday/Early Friday
  18. This is how I feel about pre 1975 Bronze keys, Silver is the new Gold and Bronze will be the new Silver. These books aren't getting any younger and demand is becoming more and more intense
