  1. I wonder what ever happened to my buddy paperairplane?
  2. My 8250 works fine with Yosemite. Are you using VueScan? No, what's that? HP told me since the scanner came out in 2003, a driver isn't likely to happen for Yosemite, basically go buy another scanner. It's software that will solve your problem. Google it. It's also described earlier in this thread. Yea, after I posted I went and looked it up, looks good, but they want $30-40 though, I guess it's better than buying a new scanner though. Should I just get the standard option? All I wanna do is just scan slabs, all I use my scanner for. "Advanced" mode is is like $80

  4. Anyone who has a HP Scanjet 8250 using Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite? I can't get my scanner to work, anyone have a driver or is experiencing this problem? Everything was fine before the upgrade.
  5. Just bumping this to look at it again. Just amazing. Whoever has this book is lucky. Edit: AND its a newsstand. Didn't even see that, at first. That's the only reason it (mostly) didn't have the defects. By the time they swapped out the plates, something recalibrated. You don't see newsstand copies with (as much of) these tear defects as you do direct. Wrong. The only plate that changes is the black plate. The tears on the spine has nothing to do with a plate change directly. Didn't say it did. Reading is fundamental to comprehension. Read it again, paying particular attention to the phrase "by the time" and the word "something" in the second sentence. "Swapped out the plates" = one (old) black plate plus one (new) black plate = TWO black plates, plural. Funny how that works. It takes 2 minutes to change a plate, I know what you said. You said "something recalibrated by the time they swapped out the plates" I said the tears are not related directly to the plate change. You also said "That's the only reason it (mostly) didn't have the defects" Then brought up the plate change. Don't get twitterpated, Kevin; you didn't read and/or understand what I said, but commented anyways. I know what I said, too...it's still in this quote nest. Let me spell it out for you: "That's the only reason it (mostly) didn't have the defects" is a statement relating to the book being a NEWSSTAND, rather than a DIRECT copy. "By the time" refers to WHEN something happened, not WHAT happened or HOW it happened. I never said...nor even implied...that the plateS (plural) being swapped (because there are TWO black plateS) had anything to do with the tears. I said by the time the newsstand run was being printed, something (NOT THE PLATE SWAPPING) in the line recalibrated, because you don't see these tears AS MUCH on the newsstand run as you do on the Direct run. Nothing further than that was implied, nor should be inferred. Easy cheesy. I shouldn't have to spell things out like this. If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. 6. Oh right, a zero feedback user placed a bid so therefore the whole auction is shilled? Don't you have other things in this world to worry about? Starting to think you make up stuff to worry about.
  7. COI you must be pumped up about the Aquaman PF coming, I know I am, However I still need Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Batman, might wait out Batman and see if they do a blue/grey version. WW you can get pretty much anytime with that huge ES.
  8. Ehhhhh....maybe. Five years ago, no one cared about Harley. That's nearly two decades of obscurity. History has shown that obscurity isn't permanent...and neither is the spotlight. That's so deep!

  11. It was a cool movie, certianly one of the best Superman movies to come out since the 1978 one. It's not The Dark Knight but it was very entertaining to watch. I give it 3 out of 4 stars
  12. Real fans already have it (thumbs u That's not true. That's like saying real Batman fans have Detective 27.
  13. Can't find that book out in the wild at all, I've found the 49 but not the the 50 Sweet. I picked up a run of #37 until the end a couple of months back and was not aware that any other issues were worth more than a few dollars. (Courtesy of Bosco) Swampy 53 also appears to be heating up whats special about Swamp Thing 53? Batman App, Arkham Asylum story, Cool cover Watch for Swamp Thing 52 to possibly heat up along with this, Joker Appearance.
  14. Can't find that book out in the wild at all, I've found the 49 but not the the 50
  15. You're allowed at least 1 or 2 very small defects before it's a 9.6, then again, I've seen flawless copies come back 9.6.
  16. None of the books you mentioned had anything other than average print runs. That's why they are so expensive, while Spiderman #1, for example, is not. I'm going to bite: Is there something special about Spider-Man and X-Men #1?? Ok, Same with you, As long as there is a demand for the book, there is no demand for Spider-Man 1 and X-Men 1, try understanding what you've read.
  17. None of the books you mentioned had anything other than average print runs. That's why they are so expensive, while Spiderman #1, for example, is not. I said as long as there is demand for the book, try understanding what you've read. There is no demand for a Spider-Man 1 or an X-Men 1
  18. I've said it once, I'll say it again, print runs are overrated as long as the demand is there, Don't believe me? ASM 300, NM98, Hulk 181, GS X-Men 1, BA 12. No matter how many of them there are, people will continue to hunt for big 1st appearances, X-Factor 6 is showing no signs of slowing down. For a book that is "common" they certainly aren't readily available on the cheap.
  19. That's not what your listing said. You are purposefully deceiving people. I wonder if you've always been this way and I jus never noticed it. I used to think you were a boardie with integrity. Now I don't see any. Purposefully overgrazing and now outright lying. He did something similar with his Alpha Flight #17 sale. Described it as "First appearance of Big Hero Six" in big bold copy, and then formatted less prominently in the paragraph following it "by their creators," as if the first work by a creative team that's not an actual first appearance is something that collectors care about. Clearly intended to deceive people into thinking that it was the first appearance of Big Hero Six. Most people know what they are buying, you're trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. You can't do anything about who writes what on their auctions, the buyer needs to understand what they are buying. It really has no effect on you on, so why not just worry about yourself? I'm not in Divad's corner since i've had beef with him in the past but people on here are splitting hairs on his product descriptions about what is "exactly correct to a tee" needs to stop, try going outside for a walk, get some exercise since I know most of you people could use it. Maybe the buyer should be cognizant of what they're buying, but that doesn't absolve his responsibility. How would you feel if a parent or relative of yours got fleeced from a greasy salesman? What he's doing is dishonest, plain and simple. Again, it doesn't relate to you. eBay does have a return policy and even some sellers don't know everything. I think you guys are just tired of seeing him post his auction results in the thread, well...I'm tired of reading off topic nonsense like this in the thread. Maybe you should call the eBay police and tell them you don't agree with his comic descriptions, besides, most people don't even read them anyway, they just hit the BIN/Bid button. If the buyer buys it and is happy with it, then who is he hurting? You? The collector sitting on his over weight rear end at the comic store playing magic cards with teenagers? The guy down the street? Ever think the buyer knows and actually wants the issue? Maybe he's trying to put an Alpha Flight run together? Maybe he's trying to grab all the Big Hero 6 appearances...You're not the buyer and you're not a mind reader and that goes for anyone complaining about someone's auction trying to sell a book, you don't know the buyer's intent. Plain and simple. And to answer your question about my parents or one of my relatives being taken advantage of "greasy salesman" I'd laugh at them for being so stupid and not doing your research beforehand. I work in the trading division of an investment firm of 39 billion AUM, I couldn't care less about a guy making $10-15 on a comic book. What's he doing is sleazy, if you want to hang out with this clown be my guest. Rather hang out with you! I don't think what he's doing is sleazy at all, I do however think that bringing up what you do for a living out of the blue is pretty sleazy in itself, Doesn't matter how much the company you work for is worth, it's pointless and irrelevant to the discussion and brings nothing to the table other than your inflated ego. I'm a busy guy, I didn't get past the first sentence in your rambling. So I threw in a quick summary.... You found the time troll though! Mr. Busy
  20. Really? 40,000 posts in 10 years = 4,000 posts a year = 11 or so posts a day. Not all that much free time required. If you just use emoticons it is easy to do 11 posts a minute. That's what greggy does
  21. XM Studios is making a heck of a line of statues. They are really outdoing Sideshow IMO They are doing a good job on the Marvel stuff, but SS 's DC stuff is amazing. SS hasn't announced and new Marvel or DC stuff since Comic Con. Just a bunch of Star Wars/Aliens and hot toys.

I have to be honest here bud, other than the grammar police nothing irks me more than those who brag about their job in investments or stocks in a comic book forum. That's funny, because nothing irks me more than others telling people what irks them on a comic book forum Nothing irks me more than telling people who tell others they irk them about their irking and when it irks...wait... The noobs should be getting a knock on the door soon...
