  1. I remember selling 6 copies of #1 on ebay for $220 for all of them cause the bidder wanted to send them to CGC, I had slabbed 4 others that came back 9.8 and sold them for around $75 each.
  2. Who's the guy with the bow? Didn't see him in the movie. Yes you did
  3. That's a great question! There's a statue I want and there is a waiting list however I don't know if it's worth it to be stuck in limbo. Anyone have an answer for the success rate? I had a Harley Quinn EX wait list conversion, They do happen but I wouldn't count on it.
  4. Exactly, I really couldn't careless what they have to say. Why I don't understand people waiting in line for some pornstar or some TV show actor.
  5. Bob's an awesome guy, he's always been very friendly with me. He often allows me to leave my stuff at his booth at shows, with the only payment being that I allow him to smell any particularly pungent back issues I purchase. Hey, we all have hangups. I asked him one time, Why Don't you try and work for Image? He said "What makes you think I haven't?! Then another time he's showing me his old stuff he did when he was learning to ink, he said "This stuff is stronger than yours and I'm using Synthetic brushes" You could come over to his house and work, then he'd come in the room and yell at you cause you had a bumpy line, you couldn't call him, he'll call you instead. Then I got a letter in the mail of him offering me his Bernie Wrightson prints for $300... After that I had enough of that guy.
  6. I worked with inker Bob Almond for a few weeks since he was searching for an assistant, What an egoistical jerk! He's worse than I am!
  7. Neal Adam's giant stomach offends me more
  8. Same can be said about people paying 300K for a NM copy of AF 15, you can buy a 1.0 for $4500 instead.
  9. Wait till you get your DD statue, you'll be like Dude! This thing is huge! You'll never look at your old Bowen DD statue the same way ever again!
  10. Wow,Man Cave Next week huh? Good For You! (thumbs u
  11. Man up and put your foot down! Buy them and worry about displaying them later You'd actually need a good sized bookshelf. Can always install sturdy wall shelfs!
  12. I think your best bet is to buy the characters that you love the most, if you bought everything that looked nice, you'd be bankrupt. Sure Lobo looks amazing but I'm not a fan of his...
  13. Once you get one you want another and another and another ect... Glad I've been selective, Passed on Lobo and just focusing on what I really want. Might pass on Batgirl and P.G, but we'll see. Already have Catwoman, Ivy, Dr. Doom, Queen Of The Dead and Death's Siren on order...need to watch myself. Don't need a $600 month bill.
  14. MCS has strict grading? I bought about 10 Conan The Barbarian books from then since I've head so many wonderful things about their grading, All books were "NM+" The books showed up with multiple color breaking spine creases and small bends on the corners, along with surface wear. I mailed them back for a refund. No idea what others are seeing. I'll sell there though
  15. I wonder if SS will do another Spider-Man PF, anyone know?
  16. I really like the GL PF, too bad I missed it and he's not getting any cheaper.
  17. Yea you're right and the proof is in the pudding, look at how terrible their DC line has been.... And the prices have gone up quite a bit in those last 8 years. Now we're running into issues where they are not even using the same paint on their prototypes vs the final product I.e. The matte paint used on the JSC spidey is now glossy. 1. Everything has gone up over the past 8 years, you can't expect to be paying what you paid 8 years ago to now, heck I remember when gas was .95 cents a gallon. 2. SS has even said that the factories that paint the statues are different from the ones they use on the prototypes. I agree that SS should use what the factories use. 3. As far as the foam is used, That's just sideshow saving a buck, even at my job they try different things to save on materials, even if what we were using was better. Your workplace does it too.
  18. Yea you're right and the proof is in the pudding, look at how terrible their DC line has been.... I'm not saying SS is terrible. They make some amazing statues. The majority of all of my statues are sideshow. But the quality of the original SS statues such as hulk pf, cap, and Thor are by far better than what they're making now, I.e. hollow statues, poor paint apps, and poor packing. Hell the grey Styrofoam they used was better quality than now. The prototypes used to be close to the product you received. It's a gamble now. I'm willing to bet the number of returns for poor paint apps are significantly higher to what they were 8 years ago. And the prices have gone up quite a bit in those last 8 years. Now we're running into issues where they are not even using the same paint on their prototypes vs the final product I.e. The matte paint used on the JSC spidey is now glossy. SDCC Proto vs final product While I am disappointed that the paint on the Spidey is completely different, I'm even more mad that we saw them on the MJ and Gwen pieces. Both had the same paint apps as the protos and then when we get around to the main attraction they switch it up. The paint app on that Spidey was a selling point for a lot of people, especially me. +1 Gwen and MJ were awesome and then they botched the centerpiece. The paint app on the proto is washed out, looks almost orange, spider-man is not orange. I like the darker shade of red and I can see why they changed it.
  19. Yea you're right and the proof is in the pudding, look at how terrible their DC line has been....
