Exactly.  Are they grading the box or the film?  It makes no sense to me.

they are grading the box with the film in it similar to grading a VHS tape bow with the tape in box

As far as the super 8 film itself goes, it does bring up interesting questions as how they are going to grade that: how many home made splices? were the splices tape or cement? frames missing? sprocket holes torn? scenes missing? celluloid scratches? color fade?    it all seems kinda stupid

Had a very frustrating experience recently with Heritage and their shipping dept. and wanted to share to see if anyone else has run into a similar issue.

I won a raw Hawkman #4 book at auction graded FN/VF. Was excited to get it as I have one CGC 7.5 copy and was hoping to add another to my collection.

Imagine my disappointment when the box arrived, looking like it had been delivered by Ace Ventura (see pix).

Obviously, the beat-up box is on FED EX. However, a well-packed comic should have easily survived a rough shipping process.

Except, Heritage shipped the comic without any cardboard to protect it. They just wrapped it in some bubble wrap and a standard bag/board.

As you can see, it didn't protect the comic. Considering they've shipped $300 animation cels to me in heavy duty boxes with cardboard protection, about 2 million packing peanuts & a manila envelope, I could not believe the shoddy shipping for a $1500 comic book.

Heritage did offer a full refund immediately when I let them know what happened, but it's still incredibly frustrating. A great Silver Age comic is ruined because someone was too careless or lazy to pack it properly.

    URGH....rant over.

Sorry if I offended you.  I already checked GoCollect and GPAnalysis. Those prices astonished me!   I pay attention to Neal Adams' Batman and Tec and didn't look enough hard at Marshall Rogers' work.

Your price for Tec 475 is right. I would do same thing.

No offense. I’m trying to say I’m pretty much an insufficiently_thoughtful_person and what I think is kinda..well.., idiotic

Whoa.  I have it for a long time and I didn't realize the value has gone up.  I bought it for $10 in 15 years ago.

Please do your own research as I’m not the end all to be all, however, 300$ seem to be the going (asking) price of a 9.4.

I really spend about 10 minutes looking. I don’t make a vocation of searching the world for comic prices.

Yes, it is a complete enough Joker vs. Batman story between 475 & 476, but you would be missing the plot threads and character arcs that Englehart set in motion back in 469 & 470.  The complete run is 469-476.  Marshall Rogers only came on board with 471, so be aware that the first two chapters are penciled by Walt Simonson and inked by Al Milgrom, which wasn't the smoothest combination in my opinion.

Hey Zonker, as long as I'm bugging you (if you know): Why does Detective 475 sell for about 150$ more then Detective 476 in similar grade
