  1. Interesting. I saw a movie with a friend and his dad in the late 70s. A trailer for Dracula came on with Frank Whatever-His-Last-Name-Is. My friend's dad said, "Can't they come up with anything new?"
  2. My mom saw a cover of Twisted Tales (Richard Corben art?) and said, "My they have such big breasts." Both parents were supportive of my hobby. My mom never threw any of my books out.
  3. Not particularly. Why? Are you a Scientologist?
  4. I think Louis Theroux is an extremely talented man. Not as good as Nick Broomfield but pretty darn good. Just saw his Scientology movie.
  5. Pretty cat. Sorry to hear about the problems you seem to be having. You seem like a loving owner. Good for you!
  6. What if the person that “finds” you turns out to be your killer?
  7. God damn is the above funny. Correct and funny.
  8. if you're cool, sure, why not?
  9. is this tippi hedron's place. she's got some kinda exotic wild animal rescue out in lancaster or something. took my mother-in-law there once and she got too close to some kinda bird that farted and all over her.
  10. while I appreciate the effort, I think it has to be more, um, sly or educated or something. I would like a Sea Dweller tho
  11. Good point. I’m so flip-floppy on my feelings about this you’d think I was a politician.
  12. my nieces and nephews are a-holes . parents spoil them and I don't believe any have ever even uttered the words, "Thank you" to anyone for any reason. They won't appreciate my books and are too lazy to maximize turning them into cash. So I gotta cash out at some point.... Come to think of it, I should probably stop buying now.
  13. I've only got Concrete #6. But I hear ya. I'm open to the fact I could be wrong. I often am.
  14. Let's affect it then. Where shall we start? EDIT: I reached into a random long box in my closet and pulled out a random book. It's Dark Horse's Concrete # 6, February 1988. Can we make this book super valuable so I can unload it for big $$$ and buy a circa 80s Rolex Sea Dweller (around 8 grand, I guess)?
  15. Is that when the front cover lines up with back cover and there is no interior pages showing? Is this considered most desirable re: centering?
  16. that's been discussed and theorized before here and the general conclusion is we are a small minority of comic aficionados, essentially meaningless.
  17. Thanks to all. I'm jotting them down. Keep forgetting about that kid collecting Spiderman
  18. always looking for stuff to read I haven't. Your opinion on the best single issue story. I'll go first. Daredevil 191. Excellent Miller art/story. Gets to the heart of Miller's Daredevil character. Wants to kill bullseye. Is able to, but refrains. Miller's use of paneling was new to me, although I know he wasn't an innovator. His minimalistic background consisting of just blocks of lines added to loneliness of story. Thought provoking look at violence and guns. A bittersweet goodbye to what I think was one of the best runs in comics. Also the Swamp Thing taking place at the Winchester Mystery House by Moore. But that might be more than one issue. EDIT: I would like to "like" my own thread because off all the other threads, I believe it seriously needs to be liked more!
  19. Looked it up in Indoniesia. It was Bunaken National Marine Park
  20. Went scuba diving in Bunokin island in Indonesia. I’m spelling it wrong.
  21. I keep thinking about my buddy in Texas with 5 buildings around his home full of paperback books, some quite vaulable. He has one son who is sickly himself.
