  1. Here you go. I guess I was that bored. His name is Ralph Whittington. He will most certainly buy your playboys. https://www.youtube.com/embed/qzMdqbzg38A?rel=0
  2. Film maker Jeff Krulik (Heavy Metal Parking Lot) made some kinda documentary about some perv in Washington DC with a huge porn collection. I bet he would buy them. I'd try to find the title of the documentary for you and the guys name just not bored enough. Got laundry to do and have to wash the dog.
  3. GREG WE NEED YOU TO TESTIFY HERE!!! FAKE OR NOT! "You can grade them and I can grade them and it doesn't mean anything in the real world," says the monkey from Pawn Stars. Um, yeah, I think I'd take Greg's grading over yours.
  4. I'll find it on Youtube if I can. I'm that bored and don't want to go to this stupid party my wife is making me go to.
  5. i wouldn't have either unless I was deep into comics.
  6. his store wasn't mentioned. he didn't indentify himself. just some guy selling an avengers #1. (Reece didn't sell, Pawn Stars offer price too low) If he's around these parts, I'd love to hear his story
  7. Greg Reece went on Pawn Stars I believe. Would love to hear his experience in doing "reality" tv.
  8. I could only endure about 65 seconds of the program so I don't know if the guy was happy or not, but one could argue that if he enjoyed collecting the way he did, than who's to say the hows and how much he spent. But I hear you.
  9. I didn't find much of interest at Frank and Sons' auction. There was a dealer or two with older stuff but mostly all I found was modern drek heavy on variant nonsense. And like someone posted earlie a good rule of thumb is if it's on TeeVee, it's fake.
  10. Amazing. Treat people with respect and receive respect. Shocking!
  11. What an interesting couple of pages. Good job, Iceman399. Wonder if this will have everyone and anyone thinking that if you go to the guys across the street for encapsulation and grading than there must be a nefarious reason why.
  12. what happened first the CGC sale of the Voldy sale?
  13. With the exception of the mention of a parallel world (they say it's a first. I have my doubts) it's a really really lame story. I keep thinking of that panel with the characters dancing like puppets. Yes, Cool cover. Yes, I have one. CGC 6.5. Just my opinion mind you.
  14. I'm sorry for being the slow guy in class but I'm in need of some help. Am I correct?: This book was in a CGC case labeled as trimmed. Someone bought it for kinda a low price (all things being relative) and cracked it out and submitted it to the guys across the street and they said, "Hey it's not been trimmed" and put it in their version of a universal case and it was sold for lots more than the HA CGC purchase?
  15. wish I could keep up with all these AF15s like you guys and understanding the detective work. This copy was in this holder but went to that holder and what it all means. i'm a simple man unable to keep up. Perhaps I should switch over to Beenie Babies.
  16. Traveling all day today and needed the laugh thanks Grebal! “If it wasn’t illegal, immoral, and reprehensible, murder might be interesting and effective!” Hahaha.
  17. It's hard to believe, but niece (and perhaps entire family although I'm not sure) was unaware of the last Heritage auctions (or whatever the very recent HA was with a lot of Ditko OA in it) until I gave my wife the Heritage catalog to show her. In fact she was unaware of HA at all. I have no idea what family is gonna do with art although niece said SD mailed lots and lots of his OA to her dad, steve's brother just prior to his death. It would seem with that last OA Heritage auction the market is already in the process of being flooded with Ditko OA. There was a ton of Ditko OA in it if I remember correctly. Or I could be wrong. After 50 years on earth, I find that I've been wrong about 65% of the time.
  18. just about all of 'em. even the expensive ones.
  19. Rom #1. No one listens to me, not even myself cause I don't have one. It just such junk on a quality level I can't bring myself to buy it. I bought a major key about two years ago and wonder if I could sell it today for what I paid for it. I am not sure I could. I guess I would have to sell it to see what it would sell for today. There hasn't been one of a higher grade sell since I bought mine, so who's to know. It's funny. Makes me laugh but I'm keeping it for the next 15-20 years and than sell so we'll see. Maybe I'll make a buck or, as others have said, use it for fuel. Just have to get it out of the CGC plastic. My wife is starting to talk about getting a piece of Ditko Spiderman OA. My wife works with his niece. She's just gone to her and said she wants to buy one. "Let me talk to my dad. The phone has been ringing since my Uncle Steve died and my dad just lets it ring." It appears SD didn't discuss with his family what he wanted done when he dies and I'm told it's a real mess. I insisted we pay market price cause it would be disrespectful otherwise. (My wife has same kinda morals, so...) I tell her what it's gonna cost and she doesn't seem to care. Hell, the major key was her idea. I was ok with a low grade copy but she said get a higher grade one. Who am I to say no? It's an odd situation over here for sure.
  20. No, not so much. However, I got some cash for comics. Sometimes a lot. And I could have spent it at St. Marks over and over and over and over again if only...
  21. I used to ask people in the know what’s good today: people reading comics today, folks that work in comics shops. “Oh you’ve got to read this or that. Pick up this, it’s the best thing out there.” I say used to because I don’t anymore because everything they recommended to me sucked. There’s too many good things I have to read to deal with mess EDIT: I am looking forward to Seth’s completed Cyde’s Fans coming out this May. Slipcase and all. 20 years the making. I was living in Chicago in early 2000s and he had just started the story.
  22. Whatever St. Marks becomes, I can't wait to spend money there.
  23. Used to be a bookstore here and if you spent enough cash you got to go to the upstairs "secret room." I was looking for a rare Phillip K bio so I was up there looking. The place was a mess. I organized it and found 3 copies of the PKD book! Owner grabbed all three and put expensive prices on them underneath glass. Then he went out of biz and everyone was sad, "Another bookstore gone." Some people deserve to go out of biz.
