  1. Pretty sure that's the only original sketch still up for sale. Was tempted on bidding on it last time but I went for the Electro instead. This one ended up receiving no bids, so the seller decreased the starting price.
  2. @Kevin Boyd hey Kevin, sorry for bothering you again. Is there any chance Joe Rubinstein might be able to attend the show in March? I talked to him and he said he's written to see if anyone in Canada would like him as a guest in 2019, maybe he could make Toronto ComiCon? Thanks, and looking forward to the show.
  3. I recently thought of that too. JrJr's art rep is confident the sketches I showed him are real, and JrJr confirmed the story behind them checks out, so its weird that he'd have one piece of art that isn't real. I also received the JrJr Electro sketch from that seller yesterday, although the packaging could have been much better, the art is definitely real and not a print. I think it could be possible that it's just a rough copy of the cover, but I never did ask around about this piece, just the sketches for sale.
  4. Was commissioned to recreate this tattoo, I think it's near completion. Drawn on 11x17 paper, just been using pencils.
  5. @Kevin Boyd Looking forward to the announcements. I'm not sure if you ever take guest suggestions but It'd be great to see Mark Bagley, Mike Zeck, John Beatty, Alex Saviuk, Ryan Ottley, JrJr, Ron Frenz, Ryan Stegman, or Todd McFarlane. I know that odds are much higher of some these creators attending the August show rather than the one coming up. Hopefully a couple of these artists can make it to Toronto this year.
  6. Hey @Kevin Boyd do you happen to have an idea of when the first round of comic guests will be announced for the show? Thanks
  7. Not sure whats going on with this piece, but I did do some research on the John Romita Sr. Punisher sketch and a couple of the JrJr sketches. The seller claims he purchased the art from John Romita's grandson, Matt, which is why lots of the art is personalized to him. This was later confirmed with John Romita Jr, it's a very long story involving Matt, but I won't get into it because its very personal. JrJr's art rep is confident the sketches I showed him are real, and the story behind them checks out. On the other hand, I never did show him this art, I doubt John actually illustrated that piece, looks way too sloppy. Recently, I did come across this other Punisher sketch from John, the two poses are almost identical which is a bit strange. I showed it to Mike Burkey and JrJr's art rep and haven't heard back from them. I still believe the Punisher by Sr, and the Electro and Doom by JrJr are real. Not sure about the rest. Also, it doesn't make sense to personalize a fake sketch, as it'll only decrease the value.
  8. Thanks! I wish I was able to obtain all of these in person, but for a couple artists, I have mailed the jam out to have them add to it at different cons that I could not attend in person.
  9. Just received my ASM 100 jam back from NYCC. After 3 trys this year, I was finally able to add an Adam Kubert Kingpin, loved his run on Spectacular Spidey. Full list of artists and characters below. What other spidey artists should I try to add? JSC - Lizard (FX Boston '18) Adam Hughes - Gwen Stacy (FX Canada '17) Adam Kubert - Kingpin (NYCC ‘18) Ron Frenz - Spider-Man (Home commission) Humberto Ramos - Green Goblin (FX Canada '17) Mike Zeck - Punisher (FX Canada '17) Tyler Kirkham - Rhino (FX Boston '18) Joe Sinnott - Dr. Doom (Private signing) Erik Larsen - Doc Ock (FX Canada '17) Clayton Crain - Carnage (Monroe '17) Adi Granov - Venom (FX Canada '17) Bob McLeod - Kraven (FX Boston '18) Ed McGuinness - Mysterio (FX Canada '17) Keith Pollard - Black Cat (Baltimore '17) Joe Jusko - Electro (FX Canada '17)
  10. Stan Lee portrait created on Adobe Illustrator using hundreds of tiny shapes.
  11. David Finch never showed up on Thursday too. Apparently he got stuck in traffic and I was told he completely cancelled the first day. Was a bummer.
  12. Just finished this one today, pencils were done traditionally, brought it into procreate for colors.
  13. There could be a couple possibilitys, as you said before, Jack could have signed the piece of paper prior to the sketch being added to it. Or, it could have been someone's fan art which they got Kirby to sign in person. The signature does look ok to me, but definitely not the art.
  14. I believe I know who you're talking about, he messaged me screenshots of his comments (I'm blocked by her so I couldn't see) some of them were pretty funny, but true. I'm just shocked that only a couple people in the comments actually see through that fake! Everyone else is commenting congrats and actually believe it's real even after her last scandal!? Makes no sense...
  15. That's odd? On her original post it showed a screenshot of the Silver surfer sketch for $500. Bit confused now...
  16. Just came across this so called Jack Kirby Silver Surfer sketch on Instagram, which was purchased not too long ago off eBay! The second I saw it I could tell it was a fake, and after doing more research, I found the actual image Kirby drew which must have been used for reference. Although I'm almost 99% certain the sketch is fake, Kirby's signature seems alright, meaning it could have been someone's fan art which they later got signed by Jack, but the signature could be fake too. Funny enough, the person who ended up purchasing the sketch for a "steal" was the same person that was selling forged art from J Scott Campbell, Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, and other well known artists, many of them called the seller out, confirming the signatures and sketches were fake (link to article: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/12/01/liefeld-mcfarlane-forged-original-art/ ) I'm not sure if she plans on selling this or adding it to her collection of forged sketches, but I almost feel bad for her, time after time again she is getting ripped off, and constantly buying artwork which is obviously fake! Could only take a couple minutes of research to see through the scam, but maybe she's just too lazy to do so. Here's the original eBay listing; https://www.ebay.com/itm/JACK-KIRBY-Hand-Signed-Autographed-Original-SILVER-SURFER-Art-w-COA/183379669854?hash=item2ab247b35e:g:1tYAAOSwr85bYj-Q
  17. Thanks for the kind words! When I'm doing larger portraits, I use a different method, of printing the person out and putting it under a plastic grid. I draw the grid lines on the larger piece of paper that I'm working on, and start from there. Helps me get very accurate proportions. But yes, using a light box would be much easier than this. On smaller portraits like the Jim Lee, I just do it by freehand instead of using that time consuming method.
  18. Thanks! Was doing using freehand! Should really look into light boxes, could help so much more.
  19. Quick sketch of Jim Lee I gave to him for his birthday this past weekend at Fan Expo. Hope you like it Mr. Lee!
  20. My OA haul from Boston Comic Con this weekend! Amazing Spiderman 100 jam piece YES that is an original Lizard sketch by J Scott Campbell, which he was kind enough to add to my jam. Humberto Ramos classic green goblin. Clayton Crain Venom sketch.
  21. Got a pretty crazy story involving JSC from Fan Expo Boston this past weekend! During Saturday I got to JSC's booth first thing in the morning and got the chance to get a few books signed and show him my Spider-Man jam piece. Others in line though I was crazy to ask for a sketch from JSC, but to my surprise he seemed very interested in my jam piece and I was told to come back later in the day, but it still wasn't guaranteed I'd get a sketch. As luck may have it, I found JSC on the show floor and had more time to talk to him about the project! We walked back to his booth and he began to sketch away! It was almost like having a private session with him, got to have a conversation with JSC while seeing him do his magic! His Lizard turned out great, and am so thankful to have gotten Campbell on my jam.
  22. Went to Fan Expo Boston on Friday/ Sat and had a great time, one of my best cons yet! Here are some of my pick ups; Humberto Ramos colored Green Goblin commission, managed to get his 6th and final spot on his list during the first day! Was great talking to Humberto and Joe. Next up was Clayton Crain! Was great chatting with him and picked up this sweet Venom sketch. Bob McLeod Kraven addition to my jam piece! Friday was mostly focused on signatures and got a ton of books signed by artists including John Byrne, Humberto Ramos, Clayton Crain, Bob McLeod, Mark Morales, and a few others, the lines weren't too bad. I had high hopes for Saturday as this was the day J Scott Campbell, Jim Lee, and Tyler Kirkham would be attending the show. First thing this morning I went strait to JSC's booth and got a couple books signed. I was hoping to get a quick sketch from JSC on my jam piece, and was told to come back later if I wanted a shot at one. As luck may have it, I found JSC walking around the show floor, this time I got a chance to talk to him a bit more and confirmed that I should come back later for a sketch. He told me that he'd add to my jam piece right then! So we went back to his booth and this was the result... Was the highlight of the con! I was just about to leave the con, and once again I was in the right place at the right time! I talked to Tyler Kirkhams agent at the start of the show and his list was already full. I found Tyler in one of the con hallways and got a chance to talk to him and show him my jam piece. We went back to his booth and Rhino was added to my jam piece! Picked up a lot more at the con, but these have to be my favorites! Had a great time.
  23. @Kevin Boyd I thought Byrne already mentioned he'd be at the con all 3 days, signing on Friday after lunch, and Saturday. Really hope it's just a mistake, as my Saturday at the con is already going to be packed enough with Jim Lee and JSC.
  24. Thanks for getting back to me @Kevin Boyd So if I were to buy a fan package for Jim, I would go to that specified signing, which is in the morning? I figure the line would be much shorter than his public signing at 4 correct? Thanks
