  1. Came across these signatures from SVCC, the sad part is they're all real... These are just unrecognizable, except the last one where stan signed over Jack Kirby's signature and was literally drawing circles on the cover before being corrected by his handlers. What happened to all of his last appearance announcements in 2016? Every con he attended was claimed his last, but I figure that was all bull ...
  2. Decided to pull the trigger on this last week, don't see John Romita Sr. sketches too often! John nailed the half Spider-Man/ Peter Parker look. such a classic image IMO. Might be able to get a copy of this inked by Joe Sinnott soon...
  3. Already have him on the layouts! Was originally planning on having David Finch sketch him, but Buscema would also be a great fit...
  4. Oh man!! Can't believe I missed this, been trying to get a commission from Sal for some time. @Celestial Comics So I should check back in June for the next one then? Also wondering if I supply paper, would it still HAVE to be the size of a backing board? I started this amazing spider-man 100 recreation back in 2017, where I have each character sketched by a different artist. Although, the paper is approx 13x17, each head is around 3" so it would almost be like a remark. please lmk if this would be possible, would be awesome if Sal contributed to this project, Ron Frenz will probably be sketching the full body spider-man later this month, but maybe that could change
  5. @Kevin Boyd Is it true that David Finch and Andy Kubert are some of the comic guests attending the 2018 show!? On comic sketch art's site it says the two are accepting pre con commissions for Toronto Fan Expo so I figure there're attending.
  6. 2017 definitely wasn't my best year for comics, purchased many 80s and 90s Amazing Spider-Man books, nothing too major. BUT....... I really focused on original art and signatures, 2017 was my first full year of collecting OA, and I plan on picking many more commissions up next year. The first image is a picture of my first jam piece, a recreation of the classic Amazing Spider-Man 100 cover. As you can see, I am yet to add Spider-Man (Hoping to have Ron Frenz do the honors in 2018) but did manage to add some pretty big names in just 4 months! Some include Adam Hughes, Humberto Ramos, Joe Sinnott, Adi Granov, Mike Zeck, Clayton Crain, and a few others. Each head/ character will be drawn by a different artist, so a lot of thought went into pairing the artists with characters, layouts were done on a separate page. My goal is to add some legends next year, McFarlane and Romita would be nice haha The next image is a 11x17 full body Venom commission, drawn by Mark Bagley. Without a doubt my favorite Venom piece in my collection. Another one of my best accusations of the year is the original cover art to Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider issue 2, drawn by Mark Bagley. Before Niagara Falls comic con, I had picked up the issue and right away loved the cover, just like all of other Bagley's works. Anyways, I met Bagley a week later and has luck may have it, he was selling the OA to the cover! Could not pass it up, and pulled the trigger on it for a great deal. And lastly is my runner up, a Spider-Man sketch drawn by Adam Kubert. It may not be the most detailed piece of OA, but it surely is one of my favorites and means a lot to me. I have been collecting the Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man series since issue 1 up until 298 and have been loving it! Kubert's artwork is amazing, and I had to send a letter to him, saying how much I'm enjoying his work on the series. Sure enough, a couple weeks later I was surprised by a package from Kubert, and was excited when I found out Adam had done a Spider-Man sketch for me! Can't thank him enough for it, really hope he stays on PPSM for a long time.
  7. Thank you! Hoping I can get Bagley to do Spider-Man in the middle.....
  8. Met Adam a couple months ago at fan expo and had him add a Gwen Stacy to my Spidey jam, still surprised he did it, he usually only does quick side profile sketches right? Was really disappointed when I found out about him increasing his commission rates, the artwork he is talking about that's selling for 3k hasn't actually sold though?
  9. At a con I attended in September, Adam wasn't sketching at all
  10. Was asked by some to continue to post updates on my current Jam piece I'm working on. If you don't already know, I'm recreating the cover of Amazing Spider-Man 100 and am having each character drawn by a different artist. So far sketches have been obtained from Fan Expo Canada, Baltimore comic con, and Monroe comic con. My latest update is a Clayton Crain Carnage and a Keith Pollad Black Cat (who is the co created of her), they both nailed it! Included some pictures below, and a list of the artists I have obtained. Hoping to add a Mark Bagley full body Spider-Man and a Liefeld vulture at La Comic Con. My goal is to some how get J Scott Campbell on this. The paper is 13x17 Adam Hughes- Gwen Stacy Mike Zeck- Punisher Humberto Ramos- Green Goblin Erik Larsen- Dr. Octopus Ed McGuinness- Mysterio Adi Granov- Venom Joe Jusko- Electro Clayton Crain- Carnage Keith Pollard- Black Cat This will be a pencil only commission, but I do plan on getting copies inked and colored and make a very limited amount of prints of a pencil, inked and a colored version. Let me know if anyone is interested in one - Daniel
  11. Thank you! I'm planning to recreate the ASM 100 cover and each character drawn by a different artist. I'm hoping to have Bagley do the full body Spider-Man in the middle
  12. Fan Expo was great! I my self only went Thursday but at least it wasn't too crowded, the best day to get sketches and signatures. Also got a good start on this project I'm working on...
  13. @Skizz @Michael (OML)1 Thanks fellas! Going to be posting updates on comicartfans my name is the same as this one. Might be getting Crain, Pollard, and Finch on it soon.....
  14. Thought I would show off a project I'm working on through this thread. As you might already know by looking at it, I'm recreating the Amazing Spider-Man 100 cover and am having a different artist do a different character on it. Here is a list of the artists and characters I have so far which I obtained from Fan Expo Canada yesterday; Mike Zeck- The Punisher Ed Mcguinness- Mysterio Erik Larsen- Doc Ock Adi Granov- Venom Joe Jusko- Electro Adam Hughes- Gwen Stacy Humberto Ramos- Green Goblin Really pleased with how they all turned out so far, cant believe I got Hughes on it! I only see him do side profiles in pen now a days. As soon as I walked into the convention Ramos'es list was full but he was kind enough to do a Green Goblin for me at the end of the con ( was hoping he could do the full body Spidey but I'll get Bagley to do it now). Zeck was interested in the project and asked to bring it back to his booth so he could see it, he ended up touching up and darkening his Punisher for free. Hoping to finish the project before 2019.
  15. @Kevin Boyd so comic sketch art is accepting submissions for Kubert at Fan Expo? Is that the only way for me to obtain one from him or will he be doing sketches at his booth now as well? Just trying to plan a head to see if I should still go to the con on Saturday too. Thanks
  16. @Kevin Boyd will Adam Kubert be doing convention sketches? Couldn't get his VIP ticket in time but am still looking to add a quick head sketch to a project I'm working on. Thanks
  17. @Kevin Boyd I just found out that Adam Kubert will not be attending Thursday along with others I wanted to meet so I'm starting to regret buying Thursday tickets! do you happen to know if the following artists are attending Thursday or not? - Adam Hughes - Joe Jusko - Adi Granov - Humberto Ramos - Erik Larsen - Ed McGuinness - Mike Zeck - Tony Moore - Scott Hanna Thanks
  18. Hey Kevin, do you happen to know Humberto Ramos'es sketch rates?
  19. I'm pretty sure I heard on Fan Expo's twitter that Jim Lee will be signing only one item per person for free, not sure if that's changed or not
  20. Do you guys recommend any colorists attending Fan Expo? Thinking of getting a few of my commissions there colored but not too familiar with them other then Delgado
  21. Hey Kevin, do you happen to know Humberto Ramos'es sketch rates at Fan Expo? really hoping to pick up a colored Spidey torso, going to his booth first thing on Thursday so I'm not too late. I'm aware that his commission list fills very fast. Other than Jim lee, Will most comic guests be attending Thursday and Friday as well? Thanks - Dan
  22. The signature looks real, its hard to tell with the sketch, where did you purchase it? Some parts of it matches his style in the early 90s but parts of it do not.
  23. I am planning on buying the John Romita Sr program from his recent gallery in NY website, and was hoping to get it signed. When is his next signing? Thanks
