Just found this forum and thought I'd post some of my favorite sketches I own at the moment. Met Mark Bagley a couple times this year and purchased a Spider man, Venom, and Carnage head sketch all on 11x17 boards. Bagley gave me an amazing deal on the Scarlet Spider 2 original cover art and full body Venom commission, not only that but he also signed about 30 books for me for free (he recognized me from the previous con about 2 weeks before the next one) so he gave me some great deals, hope I meet him again soon. This is an Erik Larsen 11x17 full body Venom commission I bought last year, and a Bob Layton Iron Man sketch I purchased at Orillia Comic con And these are some more of my sketches done by John Romita Sr, Joe Sinnott, Ayers, and Herb Trimp. If anyone on here has a Jack Kirby sketch They would be willing to sell let me know!

I know how you feel. They don't seem to come up on here to often. There was a captain America one on here but I couldn't work out a deal, would have wanted it. You should try sending Romita a letter to his fan mail address!

Wow I'm so jealous of that. I hope to get another sketch from him that's penciled and more detailed. The two I own are drawn in pen with not much detail.

Thanks for the info! Yes it seems like he went strait to the pen without pencils first. The prices for his sketches have been going up a lot latley

They are not, I had to screw the LED lights into the top of the cabinet.

Thanks for the compliment, they are usually displayed there, tried to make a John Romita themed display on that side of the room, but have been thinking whether I should take them down. Just wish I had space to display all my silver age spidey keys:/ Oringinal art has been taking up all my space

John Romita Sr sketch Hey guys, so last night I won an auction for a John Romita sr Spider-Man head sketch which was done in 1996, bought it so I could display it with the letter and autograph I got from him after sending a letter (unfortunately he does not sketch anymore). Anyways, I was wondering if any one can provide any insight whether the sketch looks real to them and where John might have been signing in 1996 (Included a pic of it below). Thanks- Daniel

Hey everyone, Just joined the CGC forums recently and found this board and thought Id show my current display. Been moving stuff around a lot but finally have everything where I want, and the pinball machine just brings everything alive. Display some of my original art and autographs in my cabinets as well as beside my spiderman pinball machine. As you can probably tell, Im a BIG spiderman fan, other than orignal art, I only collect spiderman collectibles. The other side of the room is my mailing desk and a shelf where I display posters, autographs, as well as my CGC comic collection, might post a pic of that soon. Let me know what suggestions you have!

So a while ago on this board I said I was getting my Amazing Fantasy 15 signed by Stan Lee at Fan Expo. Well about 2 months ago I got it back from CGC.... Finding out it had a tiny bit of trimming was disappointing, but I cant be too upset because of such a good deal I got it for, would have been way to good to be true if it had no restoration. Glad to own this in my collection though, my ASM run wouldn't be complete without it

would you be willing to part with this? Love Romita's work, mostly on spiderman

I too have sent to Ditko, sent a letter last May and have sent two more scince and got all of them back, he's definitely consistent. I reccomend you guys send something to John Romita Sr, sent him a package with a couple posters last year and a few months later got all of them back signed (even gave me a Spidey sketch on one of them) and left a nice message on paper. Sometimes he may ask for $20 to be donated to THI but doesn't ask everyone (didn't ask me too). If you guys want I can give you his mailing address, just don't send anything expensive.

Thanks for the response, it is too bad that the original owner had to put tape on it, It dosent even really bother me that the tape will lower the grade, just would be really disappointing if it ends up being restored......... I traded pretty much all of my grails for it and have alot riding on the grade it comes back as.

Hey everyone, decided to join the collectors board today. I have been collecting comics for about 7 years now (I have done alot of buying, selling, and trading on instagram for the past 2 years) and thought it would be a good idea to chat and discuss with all of the other board members on here. I first want to start off by talking about the Amazing Fantasy 15 I traded for a few months ago (why else would I be in the Amazing Fantasy 15 club) anways, I got it signed by Stan Lee at Fan Expo Canada and sent to CGC (hoping it comes back a 1.5-2.0). The thing that worries me is that CGC might consider the tape on the spine restoration (even thought its not holding any loose peices together, but just preventing it from anything happening to the spine) I have called CGC numerous times, but its a different answer evreytime. What do you guys think? Hopefully you can access the picture of my copy that I uploaded......
