Asking on behalf of my brother. He bought several autograph tickets thinking there would be someone on-site that could get signatures witnessed, so he's looking for anyone that he could have witness or facilitate these signatures on comic books.

I know he's got Ewan McGregor and Anthony Daniels for sure. Not certain which other celebs he bought tickets for.

It's REALLY late in the game to be trying to make these arrangements, but any suggestions for contacts would be most welcome.

OfficialPix was doing preorders for Star Wars Celebration, including CGC Signature Series but I'm not sure if they do in person submissions. It might be worth reaching out to them.
Their website looks like it's moving to Shopify and I couldn't find their contact info on it, but they have a Facebook page and Facebook group that is pretty active though -- that might be your best bet.

    Good luck!

  2. I got a couple variant covers from Tristan Thompson that I've had trouble finding online. I looked for some good condition copies of silver age Green Lantern books but couldn't find much.

Found a few out of print manga volumes I was missing for cheap - Ranma 1/2, One-pound Gospel, mostly Rumiko Takahashi stuff that Viz doesn't want to reprint. I've been on a huge manga kick lately after not reading anything since ~2007 and the series I never finished are all pricey if I want to finish them. My wallet wasn't happy when I saw there was a better than usual selection.:frown:

Same actually. Really just want to get mine and my wife’s copies of Kanan #1 signed by Freddie Prinze Jr. If you hear anything or if anyone knows a facilitator going I’d be much obliged. 🙏

If you don't hear word on someone for Motor City check out Galaxycon - they have a private signing with him next month and have CGC witnesses they work with.

In terms of comic book dealers would you say there was a bunch - it looks like it has a ton of celebrities which is usually not good when it comes to the number of comic book booths.  What is your opinion?

I'm probably a bad judge because I try to cram comic shopping, celebrities and seeing artists all into one day.

If you compare it to another close by event like Cincinnati Comic Expo, there's roughly the same amount of larger comic specific dealers. It seems like they get a lot of small shops though, as I see a lot of smaller booths packed with "hot" modern books and variant covers.

I never submitted to CGC before but was told the grader would view the signature as "writing on the cover" and mark me down.  In looking at the website it seems like the mag would be Qualified in a green holder for signatures not witnessed but says nothing about points off for writing.

Also, not sure if this 2002 Lebron James is rare or not in high grade and found a comic registry but not a magazine registry.  Anyone know if it exists for Mags and where it is?

    Thanks,

    Brad

You'll get the green label by default, yeah. There are some who will contact CGC and tell them to grade it as a Universal/Blue label with the signature counting against the grade.
There's no magazine registry either unfortunately. I hope they add one eventually, as I have a small collection of Entertainment Weekly and Maxim magazines signed by celebrities. :shy:

    Hi there,

Just wondering if there are any facilitators working with OC Celebrity Marketing LLC for the Katey Sagal and David Faustino signing? I searched their website and I didn't see an CGC option. I've recently send them an email, but have yet to hear back from them. Any information is appreciated.

Twin Cities Comics recently partnered with OC Celebrity Marketing LLC for their Nancy Cartwright signing, but I haven't seen them post about either of these signings.

I was surprised he had no line. I’m not a wrestling fan but he was kinda excited to sign a comic book rather than a wrestling item

Kind of surprised he didn't have a line, especially with Fast 9 coming out this year.

I'm hoping he does more cons next year, because I have that same issue waiting for his signature. :wishluck:

  8. If you submit them to CCS, you will be able to retain the Signature Series label, yes. You pay for grading at the Signature Series rate and the cost to press.

There are also some other approved pressers that can press Signature Series books while keeping the Signature Series label, from what I've read on this forum over the years. I can't be of any help pointing those people out for you though, as I've never used one.

They did it with Ultimate All-New Spider-Man #1. Limited to 100 signed by Stan Lee.

Thanks for digging this up! This wasn't the one I was thinking about, but it's still cool to see that this has happened more than a few times now.

I'll see if I can't dig through CGC news articles this weekend.

So, which issues would be best for her signature, in terms of resale value?

I'm hesitant to say any would be best for resale value, but going off of former sales the Wonder Woman #50 photo variant has always been worth more than any of the other photo variants DC has put out.

I'd say just send in something that you would be happy to have in your collection. (shrug)
