The official CGC guide to Grading comics question 9.9
ADAMANTIUM replied to dm3's topic in Comics General
The way I understood it, the centering and other manufacturing factors have to be aligned perfectly for above 9.8. That's afaik -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
ADAMANTIUM replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
The initial with color is the default setting Instead of no avatar, and I believe management did that. -
Bleeding cool is sometimes strenuous to pull up on a phone, so I didn't click the link, but what happens to the comics.once back at DC? Are they destroyed? Archived? Does it necessarily mean less available in the end?

At least it's a functioning vehicle, like military or safari, I think it's cool!

Flying jeeps! That aren't ramming jeeps, but more a roll down window sniper jeep! Haha I thought the same thing, like give it a ramming grill or something, but leaning out the door and firing a pistol? Thats awesome like just cause kind of thing. Reminds me of the quote for the DeLorean in bttf, "do it in style!" But a jeep and jurassic, who knew that would be a running theme throughout generations? An odd choice that although there is no relation, idk, even in jurassic Park, it wasn't a monorail, but a jeep

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
ADAMANTIUM replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
And he showed how they slide or slid, I've had a few that do it too. I'm not sure with what frequency it's allowable if any. Bright side I've not also had them such a tight fit that they popped or jarred the pages free from the staple. If I'm cgc showing those two minutes of the video is an easy out for them, unless they took seriously the account of the staple, and in the case I saw still being given a 9.6/9.8. That said it sounds like he talked to a "manager" that said all the right things. I wish I knew more what knowledge it took for the manager to realize. Stubborn cs reps is one thing, but for the most part has been agreeable back and forth, shame this time it took a manager. Not to pile on or make it seem numerous, but we all see problems here on the boards get started... Yet we sometimes never get to see the workings through to the conclusion. It leaves fear of what if this happened to me? What would I do in this situation? I know some have been mentioned by me as overnight mail and etc. It's just sometimes we don't know the end result? -
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???

About 11:30 to about 13:30, is where I skipped to, and it summed up the 22 minute video, I'd assume, or it was enough for me. It's tough. -
Ya a LCS, since we're Dallas, sent in a bunch of books to be slabbed, but I assume since most were the competition and didn't sell, they're having a blow out sale. Problem is they're closed and the offer was last night, the offer is good for 72 hours from last night though. I messaged about 30 minutes ago, but idk when they'll get back to me. I didn't know the book so thanks! Upon quick look that's what I thought too, but didn't know if my eyes deceived me

Sorry for the strongly worded post, but those were examples of simplifying sets. I always assumed the reason we have huge sets is because, that way you can find a set easier to enter your book. There is no way I've gone to all the sets to see how large or small, so I might not carry weight. Most of what I've seen is ASM X-Men and usual DC books too, and they're already broken up smaller, of which I'm thankful! We should still see some interesting ramifications for new sets instead of just collect every book. I mean I get it, but it just sounds so boring. Even Nintendo Power which I got added to the registry is something like 285 issues. Who can tell me of ASM or Nintendo Power that they loved every issue for 30 years. I'm sorry to make run collecting sound like that, but I just don't believe you.

"in short" saying, "grade doesn't matter due to value" and "only completion does" is hogwash when you have to spend $25 per modern grading on a 1000+ books Might as well buy the ASM #1 CGC 1.8 and forget trying? and when I said I'm not mostly a run collector, that's unfair too, because I am for what is feasible. The Moon knight set that won was a good example, short run feasible. ASM and X-men is good, cause a 3rd of those are "keys" anyway, and Idk how that gets a bad rep If i'm supposed to buy the keys first before I can't afford them, then pick up the rest of the run? I'm not spending $100,000 on "keys" then looked at as undesirable for the registry, only to spend $200,000 more on run filler (that run people even call it that themselves) to pay $25 per slab to win $500 in grading credit that said break those 1000+ issues into sets of 100? and we got a deal! as long as those awards eventually get picked. idk, just

I feel you. While I agree run sets are the core and should always be there, how many in reality ARE BEING COMPLETED? It's like saying here is an impossible goal and we'll reward those who "try", thats one thing. I'm all for them as they're the heart of the hobby, but look at the thousands of sets in the registry and tell me the percentage that are completing 700-800 plus issues, then 1000+ including variants. That's like saying we're "all inclusive", but it isn't the reality, not feasable for most! Not all sets are like that, so I don't mind! When he says there are too many small sets, then it's like tossing a pebble in the ocean! Lol Oh you got a ASM #1 in 1.8 for $6000, only 999 more books to go? I mean, that isn't all inclusive when it comes down to awarding acheivement.
