  1. I was grateful, but it didn't seem all that impressive despite my grin I'd say those who wear hats to photos are
  2. Ya and I'm in the interim of hot nights waiting to use the air conditioner because Texas weather will get cold due to rain in the middle of the night. Late night nerves in Texas heat @NewWorldOrder I think that it was I that was the grumpy guss, and not you. My bad 😬😔
  3. Don't tilt at the windmill. All I mentioned the new threshold for was to update the thread title since it is wrong, and I still got asked for what purpose. Either not taking things at face value or idk?. I have no opinion anymore on it as I don't feel the need to control things I can't
  4. Sheesh 3 pages of no one taking about that point of view, except Newworldorder, and magically the topic came up. What a coincidence if there were such.
  5. Final Round Grades In! Oh the middle of the pack! Middle of the pack! Most of the time it is like that clap, clap, clap! Congratulations to those who stayed unto the end
  6. The threshold for the form was then also pertinent to those curious, if your cause rings true for them then that's on them to ask a tax preparer. Still good to know for their knowledge when asking. Also is a bit confusing as the IRS page stated something like to "phase in" that is also good to know as it goes across platforms and for each separately currently. Ie PayPal, eBay, other all separate, to know what deductions lay where. Just food for thought. I did have a LCS tell me that cash wasn't the end all be all, or they'd still have to charge me tax. Idk nor remember how true that is, but hey it's their books and they keep them how they are stated. That and I was offered $40 in trade in credit for stuff I brought in. Rather than have the cost at $55 for three slabs and pay cash at that total and still with tax, I put a book back with the new total of only $40 of the slabs I wanted, which is what I was offered in trade credit. I then went to the counter to pay the tax, and he told me we're even because the cost at $40 was "barter" So it all kind of hit me all of a sudden having been done with taxes for 2023 for quite sometime 😂
  7. see this may be posted now or before, but Unless you started actually DOING any of those things, then you may forget to do it as mentioned, eventually when you do start I used to have my parents have an appointment, and from time to time they went ahead and filed but were given instructions to bring additional deduction paperwork next year. When there is wisdom to glean, you may not be doing those things at any given moment, but then start but have forgotten to bring the paperwork. It is nice that the boards (although their filing also is none of my business) is still willing to share years of expertise!
  8. In short, there are certain deductions I thought that were beyond cost deductions, and when considering for profit sales. Within a year those are certainly smaller, and usually the deduction for me and due to small volume of sales, I just do the income total. Ebay receipts come in handy if needed or considerable difference in profit total. I leave it to the professionals but brainstorming before going to H&R Block is good, so that when you ask those questions you already have what is needed. IDK it may help those who haven't done it often nor considered certain aspects to avenues
  9. Cool! I get it. I was sticking to profit vs loss, because as skypinkblu said that the tax percentage for a hobby or something without taking out the deduction costs or what not, the percentage of just stating profits is higher. I was reporting as those as well, in the past, because I don't have a lot sold save for recent or within a decade worth of pickups. I can't buy and deduct housing it for a year or shipping, or that wouldn't be a lot of decrease for me given any time period. It would for the cost of purchase and is where I hang my hat now But I think the thread was on the verge of "brainstorming", which has given me at least "ideas" to ask a tax professional about as just stating I got income of this much (and depending on volume) doesn't count for much deductions
  10. I simply explained those that don't have to according to the law as this stated, I guess it is his cross to bear. But then why quote me and castigate me when I respond. I was polite I thought
  11. well I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but then you started asking how I filed, and rather than be rude to you because it is none of your business and it brought to mind that your were trying to be in "someone's business" but for the life of me I couldn't figure out who! but you kept quoting me about things "I" wasn't discussing nor did I bring it up. I didn't quote you, you quoted me. Here is the benefit of the doubt, which could be cons crewed as you're not totally out to "get the someone point across!" I had nothing to do with it I assure you
  12. Spoiler Alert! No one is talking about dodging taxes other than newworldorder You try to tell him no one is talking about that, he says a lot of information that is not the full picture of profit vs loss, because still no one is talking about about dodging taxes. Then he gets it! @NewWorldOrder "Well if no one is talking about dodging taxes, and only talking about needless underlying issues" "then where and who is talking about dodging taxes?" The answer is you newworldorder ONLY YOU
  13. I'm trying to get YOU on track, welcome to when this thread got bumped. If you needed to catch up reading than ok, but I've tried for a full page of posts to tell you NO ONE IS TALKING about whatever you keep repeating. Is it work? uhhuh, So is it still paying taxes? uh-HUH, so go read this page of posts and ask me "what I mean" give me a break, this guy
  14. You seem fixed on having this argument with someone, though no one jumped in and I'm certainly not obliging. Other than to say I don't think your dependent needs to file taxes on mowing one lawn for a dollar. Nor does everyone have to pay taxes below the poverty line. I mentioned earlier that with facts to back it up. People are now talking about having to report the deductions to prove profits to pay taxes on, that's where we're at with it imo, which is STILL PAYING TAXES AND A LOT OF WORK! that's all anyone has said, but you keep fishing. Consider me the five pound trout. Good luck. 😂
  15. Can you point to the last person to say that? I am struggling to follow your train of thought, no one has said that since this thread was bumped. @NewWorldOrder I bolded it for you Nevermind
  16. It has to do with th topic of the thread, and is not about getting into everyone's business But your "they don't care about $500" diatribe turned into they don't care about $5000, so if I'm looking at your posts funny It is because it was a faint memor. I thought you mentioned the threshold you belittle was somehow $500 when your argument should be to people about 5000$ It isn't about me, but trying to understand if you're just posting to post? I guess dry bookkeeping and accountant stuff is boring, but you know? Idk if this thread is a good idea, but carry on :
  17. And this phased in doesn't make it sound easy either, that once you start they'll weigh it for a new threshold for next year? Regardless it says that platforms should send out the form under any amount, again at the link provided, and that supports @NewWorldOrder train of thought. For some substance.
  18. On the page buzzeta link, read the last 2 sentences in the IRS page screenshot, it's probably as close you'll get.
  19. That's what i though!! So i am not completly bonkers on a hot day, that should be discussed more to get the word out. I was trying to get to that point to avoid more misinformation.
  20. Well i know that but thanks! As that changes sometimes, this catch all that everyone files under any certain set of rules is a habberdash But maybe im just too full on a hot day, but its the same from year to year, and this just happens to be the thread it happens in. Simce it isnt stated recently, I'd add that no one should take advice from these catch alls, and talk to an accountant. As a certified bookkeeper, it may bring up questions, but what I know is, confusing accountants is a lot like confusing a mechanic. Both usually paid by the hour Grain of salt. I just came to see if the threshold of $600 had changed
  21. Don't individuals making below the poverty level not pay any taxes? I don't know how dependents work, if a child has to put in a tax return on mowing lawns. Weird stuff!
  22. It's not what I asked but I appreciate the good sturdy compass. I thought someone else had spoke that it was now changed to a different amount, but I don't see that in this thread so no worries!
  23. Wait I thought the threshold was now something other than $600? You keep mentioning that amount or is it now something else?
