Ok, let’s offer a couple package deals… Baker/Schomburg — Fighting Yank #26 (Xela) is listed at $200; Approved #6 (Baker) is listed at $30. TaKe the pair for $190 Magnus #2 and #8 are listed at $15 each. Take the pair for $20. SOLD! Also, there’s one Classics Illustrated left in the thread, #40 HRN 75, so I’ve knocked it down to $10. Open to any other reasonable offers or hair-brained ideas you guys might come up with too!

Ok, that may or may not be it for this thread. I have a couple busy days to start the work week, so I will revisit Wednesday, with either plans for a last volley, or a last call. Thanks everyone!

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Readcomix replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Joke my foot! Sheer marketing brilliance! Call Marvel and DC marketing! New variant cover idea — Now that newsstand editions are no longer produced out of necessity, simply create 1:100 newsstand variants by printing a UPC box on some books anyway! You’re all welcome! teehee….. -
That’s it for tonight, but more to come. Sorry it’s slow, but the hemming and hawing gets harder with each pass through the boxes. Thank you everyone for the looks, takes and above all conversation and camaraderie. I hope everyone is having fun with this thread, whether buying or not!

SOLD via PM! Astonishing #23 in VG- Spine splitting above top staple bringing it down. Presents nicely. Sweet Atlas pre-code book (1953) with a nice skull cover, a guy eaten by feral hogs, a guy inadvertently crawling into an incinerator chute… Only 18 on census, topped by an 8.5. A cgc 3.5 just went at auction on eBay for $158.50 Lotta book for the money; seems cheap to me. $125 here raw and readable.

chicken dinnah! Panic #1 and X-Men #56 go to Echuuuuuuu! Thanks Ed!

SOLD! X-Men #56 bought off the boards as a VF; I could see it and I wasn’t unhappy at all with the purchase, but I’m on the low end of that range in grading it, so I’d go VF- or even FVF. I totally missed that I already had a nicer copy 1st Living Monolith. Neal Adams art. (1st Adams X-Men issue) $75

Figures if there’s another one as nice out there that you’ve already got it! So true about Joe’s work — he did some really strong pencil work in that era but completely overshadowed himself later on by becoming widely regarded as arguably the greatest inker ever. (I don’t want to open a can of worms, and I don’t think there’s much argument against Joe holding that title; I certainly think he does. But some folks might make a case for Al Williamson, I suppose.)
