  1. SOLD! Real Life Comics #2 in GD. Heavy roll, some scraggliness at bottom of a few center pages, but everything secure at the single staple. Six on census. Grab a December 1941 Schomburg cover on the cheap. (WAS $50) NOW $40
  2. First… 5 Simple Rules (Please, please read) 1st wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread. Payment is Check or Money Order (yeah, yeah I know I'm a dinosaur, troglodyte, luddite, mennonite, hermaphrodite etc. - I just don't have or want e-payments.) Shipping: Via USPS Priority Legal Flat at $10, or Medium Priority box at $17. Don't be listy including the little one in my head. Returns: Sure, just notify me within three days of receipt and get it back to me in the same shape on your dime, except no returns on graded books. (Kudos thread linked under my avatar.)
  3. I need: Planet #10 middle three wraps All-Select 7 covers CF for Cap #’s 38 and 17 CF for USA #13 Parts I have: 28 interior pages from Superman 14 20 interior pages (full Catman story) from Crash #5 Most interior wraps for Cap 39 (missing outer two, cf, and single page adjacent to cf)
  4. This. Fun story as I remember but it has been a while (bought it off the racks) but the interior art is awful. I have always loved the cover (works in the same way FF 48’s cover does), and it is Cardy’s only Marvel cover, IIRC. It’s a unique one-off in Marvel history and weak art notwithstanding that should keep it sought after. I can’t see why it should be overly pricey either, though. Maybe supply/demand is more skewed than I assume? Reminds me of Brave and the Bold #34 — classic Kubert cover on the silver age Hawkman comeback, but it’s DC’s most unreadable silver relaunch. Ugh. But that Kubert cover with the rich dark blue background Yeah, I know we’re in bronze, just making a loose analogy.
  5. I can’t find “Fantast” as a boardie handle, so I guess he wasn’t on here. Is Harley Yee ever on here? Surely, someone who amassed 300,000 books in the Detroit area must have crossed his path.
  6. Recent .5 eBay sale for comparison. Mine presents better.
  7. If you don’t get the (cheap!) reference you probably aren’t in the market for a Mad #1 anyway….
  8. Mad #1 cgc .5 complete. $700 (cheap!) shipped within U.S.
  9. Brittleness and interior splitting, grader’s notes below. They are poorly worded as they make it sound like a completely split book, which it is not. I submitted myself and thought would get a 1.0 complete but brittle/slightly brittle for the split interior wraps. I leafed it eight times before submitting, to read and check pages due to the loose leafs (cover and outer wraps intact, staples intact) and thought 1.0. I even appealed it, but they disagreed. So we agree to disagree but the slab says .5. So here it is, complete; but cgc 0.5 Brittle….

  11. Yeah — we all know it should’ve gotten a yellow label!
  12. Tell ‘em you’ve got multiple personalities!
  13. What the heck is this still doing here?? My copy ain't coming to market anytime soon.
  14. Always a good guy in my experience. I mostly interacted with him years ago, when he was predominantly a comics dealer. (Or at least that’s how I knew him, as a high school kid myself at the time, in the 80’s). RIP good sir.
  15. Why didn’t Image or Valiant ever think of this???
  16. That’s why I grabbed it — affordable, pretty copy. Looks 3.0-4.0 range in the slab or a Mylar. The split wraps with flaky edges kill it grade-wise.
  17. This next book is a cgc .5 on the same flaws as the Cap 48 — brittleness and interior splitting, BUT this one I submitted myself and thought would get a 1.0 complete but brittle/slightly brittle for the split interior wraps. I leafed it eight times before submitting, to read and check pages due to the loose leafs (cover and outer wraps intact, staples intact) and thought 1.0. I even appealed it, but they disagreed.
