  1. It gets worse. My postmaster told me the other day that when rates go up again on the 22nd, Region A and B boxes are out too, in favor of weight and distance only. I asked if remaining supplies on hand could be used up at Regional rates and he was not certain. Meant to start a new thread, but this is easier and already has readers.
  2. Not at all suggesting some major investment, merely that he’ll have his brief moment in the pop culture sun in some future DC/Warner project. As to investment decisions regarding that, to each their own but my opinion is you’re right about a DC B-lister not having same upside as a Marvel B-lister, barring some unforeseen drastically successful happening in the future. My analogy is simply that they hold similar places in their respective stables. But those roles are not equal, as you said. Will BG got a brief moment in the spotlight again? Sure. Will it be a good investment decision to try to wait on it and time that window? Ya better be pretty precise timing-wise if you’re going to run that play in an effort to “capitalize.” That’s my more detailed two cents. My central point was their relative place in their respective universes, but that’s not investment advice. Heck, Moon Knight (and I like the character) was overpriced for many years before they did something with him. WWBN 32 hasn’t been a true sleeper for a long while. But I don’t mean to slip into Bronze so much as clarify the limits of my analogy.
  3. Welcome to the boards! There is, but I think you need to make 50 posts before you can post there. @CGC Mike Did I get that right? We had some scammer issues for a while; it was part of the effort to nip that.
  4. Here’s a good home for this beauty, too. Tagging @eccomic Fyi too.
  5. Just finished this run. #7 is by far the toughest; #3 seems to pop up most often. Bertram Fitzgerald (Golden Legacy) made it seven issues before threats from Archie Publications shut him down, or so goes the apocrypha around this brief oddity. Supposedly one of the Archie artists did these on the side, unsigned. (I don’t know if Gus Lemoine was a real person as well, or a pseudonym). A mention of this title in an Overstreet Market report several years back (by Cat Yronwode, IIRC) intrigued me and I started in on it. A quick search indicates Lemoine was real but there’s also debate about Scarpelli or Goldberg working on the title unsigned.
  6. But any new post bumps the thread to the top - yours or anyone else’s post in the thread will bump it.
  7. Are they a boardie as well? Trying to get in touch. Thanks!
  8. Key words that are implied with first appearance: “in continuity.” Covers, ads = images. But they are not the character’s first participation in the comic book fictional universe that they are a part of. That does NOT mean there’s no love/no place for collecting these preview ad type appearances, just a distinction between first printed image and first participation in their comic book world, which seems to me to be the longstanding reader-based definition of a first appearance. But there’s room to collect and love and value it all for its coolness. (Kind of neat to see a character teased in print before they are available to read in action.) Marvel did this often in the Bronze Age with character images appearing with a hype blurb on the “Bullpen Bulletins” page. Off the top of my head, I remember seeing Ikaris from the Eternals, and Omega the Unknown before those books came out.
  9. Great summation. He’s basically a Copper Age DC Moon Knight. (Long-standing cult fan base for a B-lister who’s consistently nurtured just enough over the years. MK got his cut in the clouds; BG likely will too.)
  10. 3.5. Foxing gets it hammered in an otherwise higher grade, but it’s probably structural 4.0 at best without the foxing anyway.
  11. It was totally scrutable — 1st Mary Walker (Typhoid Mary)
  12. Thank you so much @Poekaymon for this killer mystery box 1st appearance slab, TPBs, variants; some really sharp books and a great mix of stuff I haven’t read before. And Jurassic Park coasters! Thank you again for this generous and carefully curated mystery box!
  13. Dangling Bucky to Dangling Bucky (All-Select #7 splash)
  14. Thanks for all you do for us! I do miss your sales threads though
  15. Last call, will close either tonight or in a.m. and get PM’s out to takers. Thanks all for your patience as this was a long slow one.
  16. You’re welcome! Btw, “watch your mailbox” is an expression… it ain’t actually gonna fit in there, if you have any sort of normal mailbox….I mean, maybe you repurposed a dumpster or phone booth or something, I dunno, but barring that….
