Ok, this first book I just loved as a kid and I automatically pull it if it’s ever in a collection I buy, but I don’t need three copies. It is a first appearance, but it may well be the least likely bronze Marvel first appearance to ever explode. But it’s a fun character and a story that always has a place in my collection…

Yes, I was thinking it looked like Swan’s figures, but it’s not his overall style, as Kav pointed out.

All you hopeless romantics are invited to a BIG wedding soon as the other half of the happy couple shows up. (Technically, it may not be a marriage as I suspect I’ve reunited the actual component parts of the same book…the 2 finds are too exact and from the same region of the country; hard not to think they were once together….stay tuned…fun for us to consider!

That’s all I shot today, but I am sorting my short boxes and still thinking on what can be added here. A couple things need to be re-read first; others I’m on the fence on parting with.

That’s the stuff I missed. I thought they looked like Swan-style musculature, (I still see some of that) but when you point out the lack of grace…. Why the heck is J’onn, who is taller, reaching up to punch Superman? Was he flying away?? Thanks Kav! Certainly not Cardy at his Adams knockoff best, but fun I guess because DC slugfests are so rare compared to Marvel, and this is their Thor vs Hulk rough equivalent. Fun to see the big 2 powerhouses squared off when it’s not so common.

World’s Finest #212 VFNM; higher if not for sliiiight dust shadow top edge of back cover. Every doofus on eBay is trying to claim this is a Neal Adams cover, but Yours Truly Doofus assumed it was Curt Sawn, but it’s in fact Nick Cardy. $25 I call upon resident Curt Swan expert/aficionado @kav to confirm or berate the reasonableness/unreasonableness of me mistaking this Cardy for Swan.

What was Aquaman's first comic book cover appearance?

I suspect you’re right…I think that is Subbie, the “pocket-sized Sub-Mariner” from Kid Komics. @Ameri ? -

I think the 230 cover is vastly underrated.
