    Supes vs Spidey; the Ali book is a lousy read and does not hold up. Wanted one forever, bothered to get one, read it, unloaded it. In short order. Not memorable content. Yes, it’s pretty. Yes, Ali is/was singularly influential among athletes as well as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of his game. But it’s a fading game, and real-life celebrity really does fade. And it’s a mediocre comic. The iconic cover will keep it relevant as a collectible at some level as long as there’s fight fans, but Supes meeting Spidey is bigger for this hobby and has longer legs within it.

    I’m posting these two slabs for my friend Anthony, who is owner of a long-time LCS in my area, Alterniverse. I’m posting, but you can pay him directly and he will ship. (This is the LCS through which I do my submissions; he knows how to pack). Here are his rules for this thread: 1st wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread. Shipping is $40 box-shipped and insured within the U.S. No returns on cgc slabs. Payment forms accepted: Credit card, PayPal, Check, Money Order. Don’t be a listy sort. I took the pix myself at his shop today, so I have seen the books. I saw no Newton rings; slabs in good shape except 2 slight scuffs on the face of the Star Wars slab. I took a close-up.

    I guess they are going for that 1990’s series, slightly later confident superhero/actor take on the character. I wonder if we see a furry Beast in the show too? My long-range prediction: they get a couple few seasons out of it and then slightly reprise it by doing Doc Samson. Very Disney+ to try a sensitive shrink superhero too. Similar vein as a comedic Wonder Man show.
