You mean the one where Patsy Walker has to ask Beast and Cap to turn away so she can strip and put on the Hellcat costume that they find at Roxxon?- 81 replies

Ok, that is everything, I am done. Sorry it’s been slow; we will close up and get PM’s to takers before the weekend is out. Just want to give a little time for this last round, and for PM’s on earlier stuff if anyone is on the fence despite price cuts. Thanks to all lookers, lurkers, krappers, and takers.- 81 replies

Barbie Fashion #13 NM this one struck me as a Showcase #79 (1st Dolphin) homage soon as I saw it. Can’t say for certain, but it’s a great cover on a tough title. $10- 81 replies

Same here; blue 4.0 beats purple 7.0, especially with trimming in the mix.

I’ve chased it to no avail the 2 times I’ve seen it on eBay over the years. It did have a cover that was in color, with a soft blue background IIRC. They’re out there.

Sports card investors entering into the graded comic book market?

I'm not so sure they're coming in from any particular place as it is people from all over taking a bit more out of traditional asset classes and putting it in all these various collectibles and such. -

I was gonna close, but I think some of the price cuts are still recent so I’m not sure everyone has seen them, and... more importantly....I remembered a few more books to add! Tomorrow! Long day today, and I have to shoot them. Nothing earthshattering, but affordable coolness — GI Joe, New Mutants, Deathstroke, probably a couple things I’m forgetting, and an issue of Barbie Fashion with an awesome under-the-radar homage cover. If nothing else, that alone is worth seeing!- 81 replies

Attention all skinflints, cheapskates and tightwads — if your superpower is tossing around nickels like they’re manhole covers (I got that from a Dennis the Menace comic, btw) this is the announcement for you: select and hefty price cuts have been applied to many remaining items posted prior to the newest batch, which I added at noon today. PM’s welcome too, especially if stacking. (And I can joke about frugal collectors — I’m ancient royalty in that club. The LCS owner from the shop I went to when I was a kid — God rest Iron Vic — used to call me El Cheapo Grande when I first started buying back issues Hey, I was just a kid!)- 81 replies

Are values now primarily driven by movie and show speculation?
Readcomix replied to serling1978's topic in Comics General
That’s just it — FF1 is the beginning and that can’t be taken away. Sure, chronologically, Showcase 4 kicks off the Silver Age but the real flowering of new and different (eg - birth of Marvel Silver Age) is FF1. That will always matter to many and keep it a big key. Of course, AF 15 brings us the big gun of the Silver Age. The loose golden age analogy would be AF15 as Tec 27 and FF1 as Action 1. Upon close inspection the analogy breaks down; a big difference being Action 1 has a “first ever” status tied to it and FF1 has “birth of a new era” as its stake in the ground. A slightly better analogy might be Timely to Marvel, and Marvel Comics 1 and Cap 1 as compared to FF1 and AF15 — old-timers and dyed in the wool golden age guys love to debate which is the bigger Timely key. (Whereas most seem to intuit that Bats is more popular than Supes for a long time now but it hardly leads to the same frequency of discussion about Tec 27 eclipsing Action 1.) My long-winded way of saying it’s no surprise that AF15 eclipsed FF1 value-wise in the long run to date, but FF1 still has upside (and a floor under it that no other Marvel key can have). My
