  1. Thanks to Patriot6 for pointing me to this thread Here's a DeCarlo Josie and the Pussycats story I picked up years ago:
  2. You're right, guys. I've seen a couple DD #1's with the last (non-story) page missing that were slabbed in a green label. Noticed them in Heritage results when I was trying to guesstimate value of a DD#1, same page missing, for a friend who had traded for one. Called CGC and asked and I recall they said it could go either way, .5 blue or green label with apparent grade, but I do note call the exact reasons for which they make the call. But the short answer is yes.
  3. Interesting. Not to derail the OP question, but did they say what they do use?
  4. Self-stick bags reek of late '90's crapola. The very sight of them makes me irrational.
  5. Yeah, unless Matt is in contact with a different guy in the same general region. But it sounds similar.
  6. There's also #48, first red and gold armor, so it's the beginning of the classic Iron Man look.
  7. The .2 thing bothers me because it somehow only exists north of 9.0. I want a book that is labeled 6.4...or 7.8.... Actually, what I really want is the quintessential VG book, labeled "pi" with that squiggly little symbol where the number goes. That would be cool.
  8. Wings of the death patrol to wings and the ghost patrol
  9. I still trade quite a bit, and I do agree in person is easier. I find I am able to trade with certain business guys at retail for retail as long as I have taken the time to learn their particular local market. For example, I trade with a couple local LCs's that are as much or more gaming stores, and much of their comics markets are the cyclically hot movie keys. But GA sits for them; they trade it happily. It took me some time and trial and error, but I have built a network of shops and flippers each with slightly different ideas of "sweet spot" books that they can move. It's enjoyable when you can figure win/wins.
  10. You're right, but if it's the character I'm thinking of/been messaging with, it's a big lot of off-titles, he's in no man's land, and he wants a pretty penny. I've been watching various iterations/subsets of the same collection offered for a while, and he seems to be throwing the spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks. If we're talking about the same guy.
  11. If it's a CL listing, it's common in this general region -- people will list in multiple neighboring categories such as Albany, Western Mass, Hudson Valley, etc. Matt, I could probably take a look somewhere in the next week if you have no takers yet. It may well be someone I have been in touch with already and dismissed based on messaging, but even so if I'm only looking because you sent me, I'm happy to honor your request if it works out. Feel free to PM me.
  12. Congrats Mike! An all-time Grail and a bonus classic cover with a cult following! Well played! Kinda stinks that minor glue on GA isn't treated like tape. Feels more like that, from the sound of things, than what I think of as "resto."
  13. Anybody got a centerfold for a Cap 17?
  14. Nah...I'm here too...stopping by to thread carp (kinda koi, right? )
  15. Holy cannoli! There must be a backstory, no? Awesome haul!
