  1. Best of the West #9....Fair 1.0 because, unfortunately, the cover is completely spilt and not attached....another thing the cover is not is its not in the Gerber Photojournal...it eluded Ernie, don't let it elude you. Two on the census. (WAS $20) NOW $15
  2. Best of the West #11, Magazine Enterprises, 1953. There's only 1 on the census, an 8.5. This one was dealt to me as a VG/F but I'd call it VG+ (4.5) myself. Fred Guardineer, Fred Meagher, Frank Bolle, Ayers and an unsigned Frazetta-esque cover (Meagher, I suspect ) (WAS $50) NOW $40
  3. Next up its Betty and Veronica #58 in VG due to some slight staining (that damn Reggie!) and shadowing on the front cover, and the centerfold detached at the lower staple. (WAS $20) NOW $15
  4. Next up is a lower grade copy of a scarce and hot book, just 15 on the census. Blue Bolt Weird Tales #116, presenting well in the Good 2.5 range. LB Cole, Jay Disbrow art inside. Appears lower right of cover was scrunched up at one point; note also shot of inside front cover for tape repair. Much of that whiteness is not tape but bright paper where the cover was bunched up for some time, apparently. All the Blue Bolt Weird Tales are tough to find and heating up of late. (WAS $125) NOW $90 SOLD!
  5. Let's start with Wonder Woman #52 in VG/F. Irwin Hasen cover, HG Peter inside, Robert Kanigher story. Just 18 the census. That lower left corner of the front cover is color abrasion, not a missing piece. (See shot with inside front cover/splash) (WAS $225) NOW $175 SOLD!

  7. Thanks for looking; I plan about three dozen books in this thread, not all tonight, and many not so easy to find. There will be Golden Age Wonder Woman, LB Cole, plenty of pre-code romance, Betty & Veronica, some tough humor books, a book that is not in Gerber, and some DC silver and bronze, including a boardie cult classic. There will also freebies (low grade but scarce books). First in the thread wins, time stamp rules. Payment is money order or check only. Sorry but I do not have Paypal. No listy sorts. Shipping will be actual, U.S. Only. Usually runs between $4.50 for one book first class up to $13.60 for a medium size priority flat rate box. I use priority mail packages with cardboard sandwiches, or flip 'n ship comics mailers. I will use the most affordable method that allows me to pack securely and includes tracking. (Upstanding boardies outside the U.S. Who just gotta have it -- PM to discuss shipping, managing attendant risk, etc. We'll try.) Returns -- Sure, just notify me within three days of receipt, and get it back to me in the same condition you received it, on your dime. Unless I have missed something. I've got a kudos thread somewhere and I do a horrible job of asking people to chime in, but I have not had a complaint from anyone who has received books from me, and I have had thanks and repeat buyers, fwiw.
  8. Thx Comicdonna! Apologies for any brief derailment....back to Tec 27....March '18 sounds far off but it's not even six months.
  9. How does one make sig lines visible these days, anyway? I see some folks reference them but I do not see them on my screen.
  10. If I inquire on a collection that I am asking to see and the seller asks for an offer before I see it, I always ask how much they are asking. If they decline to provide a number, I explain that I need to see it before making any offer. I then provide some background -- depends on what's there, condition; I won't cherry pick, will offer for all as long as I can use enough of them; my bulk buyers for stuff I don't want will pay 20 cents a book, etc -- if they still won't show to me without a sight unseen offer I then pass. Then I wait a few months for their next ad to show up. They usually get it by then.
  11. Thx, I agree. Unfortunately #2 was missing, but I was happy to find two out of three in high side of mid grade.
  12. If I can shoot enough books today, I will start later tonight (EST) with thread of two to three dozen books, mostly golden age, including GA Wonder Woman, LB Cole, several pre-code romance, a classic cover funny animals book, some tough stuff including stuff not pictured in Gerber, and some early silver Betty and Veronica. There are also a couple other silver items (2nd Zatanna, JLA in Blackhawk), and a handful of minor key/noteworthy cover bronze Superman and Action books, including a boardie cult favorite. Who's up for that? In fairness to all as a lot of this GA stuff is not the most common, no advance PM sales. I won't be available to accommodate it anyway, if I'm to get it all shot in time.
  13. I keep saying "I'm not a magazine collector, but I couldn't resist these" ... Either I'm becoming one or they are at least coming to dominate my read and release program...
  14. Thanks for covering me, chevalmeow! I hadn't seen it either so I grabbed it. Insides are black and white comics (horror, not humor) with art by Ditko, John Severin, Pat Boyette, Gray Morrow. There's also a couple text features including an analysis of Romero's Night of the Living Dead trilogy. Editor in chief was Mort Todd. Guide says Toth Art in #5, too. OSPG is way under what the handful of them on eBay seem to go for, though none of it is big money. I doubt they are common as 1989 books go. I can try to post some inside shots later/tonight. Cool book; inside covers are a poster of the infinity scene on front cover.
  15. Is Montana riffing on Caniff? Isn't she wearing the Dragon Lady's dress?
