I have a few examples of the first issue in the files with T&P stamps, but don't think I've ever seen one on the second: I would have looked for it, so the fact it is absent from the files means it may not exist. Expect an example imminently! According to Spiderfan, the TV Terror story never saw the light of day: https://spiderfan.org/item/rave/01116.html As a Spider-Man fan, this is not the missing "Next Issue" tale that I want to see. I want to see the one advertised on the last page of Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine #2 (November 1968). John Romita's drawing shows Spidey in a spotlight, his right arm covering the bottom half of his mask, as if recoiling in fear. The upper left corner shows the light source, the upper right shows a TV boom mike, the lower right shows a TV camera and the lower left shows a shadow that looks like a huge grasping hand. "Next Issue:", the copy blares from the top of the page, "The Mystery of the TV terror!", it finishes on the bottom. This is the missing "Next Issue" I want to see. Does it sound silly? Yes, but so what? I want to see it anyway. A half-dozen or so years back, there was word from Marvel that this long-lost tale would be printed in one of Spider-Man's annuals (implying that the artwork is still intact and in Marvel's possession) but it never saw the light of day. Thirty years from the first appearance of the blurb and we're still waiting.

Cheers Albert. I've enjoyed reading everything over the last few weeks. We have a good like-minded bunch here in this thread now, I think, chatting away. That's more important than the subject matter to me. Knowing there are others out there who have a home here, sharing our interest in comics and British history. Some of you are a touch older than me and I love reading your recollections of the early days. There are things we know, things we'll discover and things we'll likely never know. But we can have a bloody good time speculating about it all, either way. I can't wait to get back to posting so do keep the pot simmering

Sorry I haven't been around much boys. Mag's Mum and Dad both died within ten days of each other so there's been lots to do. I'm helping CGC Mike with the grading contest sign up lists, and that's about all I have time for at the mo, but I'll be back at some point to resume the pence ramblings. I think this is a good result. Thanks to @Hoarder for restarting the debate and to the CGC higher ups for listening to and acting on the views of all the subsequent contributors. Perhaps this principle could be adopted for all books with identifiable variations in future.

Does CGC have a “why?” Thanks for the effort and time in getting us the answer so far! Thanks Mike. @CGC Mike The Duck beat me to it but, as he says, it's pretty clear we're looking for the 'why' here. Could you get us the why?

A favourite cover of a favourite title

Understood, if I may respond, but things evolve buttock If you were presented with an opportunity to buy a copy for a rich client, and were shown two slabbed copies with broadly similar grade, eye appeal and pricing, but one was noted as a 'Now On Sale' copy, the other an 'On Sale June 2nd', which would you choose for your client? And why?

Agreed. @CGC Mike Mike, could you ask the team what the official CGC position is on this please? If Superman #1 is one of the most important comics in the hobby, and it is clear that there are different printings of the guts at least (with two versions identifiable by the advert for Action #14 - see below) should that difference not be noted on the label? Maybe Matt would be the one to ask. Cheers, Steve
