If you check the eBay description you'll see that I get a mention Albert. The seller used to be a member here and once posted a picture of an L Miller Gunsmoke Western which I picked up on and ran with. I always hoped he would return as I enjoyed his interactions in the early days of my joining - he was one of the few people that supported me after a rocky start. I posted my copy of My Girl Pearl in my Marvel UKPV thread early on and noted how scarce it was. Since then, I have seen about four copies. So it is a very scarce book but, as I always say, scarcity does not always lead to value and shouldn't, in my view, be artificially created. I've often been accused of 'pimping UKPVs up' for profit which is incorrect. I do not buy and sell to make a profit and post here for the love of research, not monetary gain. In fact, I've made so little from my knowledge that the more entrepreneurial among us would likely think me a fool. So MGP#7, yes, is a comparatively rare book. If money were no object, you could likely buy a hundred AF#15's before you'd amass two copies of it. But it's not a popular title or character and pence copies for these books remain particularly unloved. Ewan understands its significance of course so I don't begrudge him testing the water. But the reality is that even with competing buyers alerted, a copy on eBay in an auction format would be lucky to break twenty quid. I love it because it is early, singular, illogical, outside the circle, US Price Font Variant indicative, and has the most fabulous indicia.

I think that discussion was in my 'First Distribution' thread Stephen. It's an interesting debate and my own view is that procedures likely varied in different locations. Certainly there are conflicting personal experiences out there so we may never know. I like to find the smoking guns as you know, and found these examples below interesting. If you look at this copy of Tarzan from 1970 (Top Sellers Ltd, a division of T&P I believe?), you can see an advert inside for what look like US DC copies with one shilling prices: I double (double) checked to make sure no such UKPVs had escaped my attention but the four issues shown are all March 1970 cover dates and T&P one shilling stamped copies exist for all: The interior advert says these books are "obtainable from all good newsagents". In other Top Press publications we see similar adverts: Many say 'If in difficulty, please contact Thorpe & Porter". So we can see what was intended for c1970 at least. Whether we will ever find something for the earlier period I don't know and I'm always mindful that the memory cheats when it comes to recalling events from ones childhood some 50 years ago. One thing I find odd about the above is why the Top Sellers books / T&P would advertise the DC US originals when they (T&P) were producing their own UK compendium at the same time, the 'DC Super' books. I've got one of those on order and will post again when it arrives. I've never bought or owned one before so there may be some surprises inside.

There is a process for that Chazgee, as follows (desktop instructions): Go to your name top right and select 'Manage Followed Content': In the following screen, on the left hand side you will see a list of things to manage like so: Scroll to the bottom and select 'Members' under 'Other': In the final screen, select the person you no longer wish to follow by clicking on the box to the right of 'Change Preferences'. This will bring up a box at the foot of the screen - click on the cross to the right and the member will be unfollowed: It does work - I have just retried it. If you still get notifications from that person after the change it will likely be in respect of a thread that you are following in which they are regularly posting. I can post instructions for that if you need them. Good luck

I agree and would like for that to return. I have added it to the list, admin are aware, that's all we can do. Those suggestions are hard coded and appear at the foot of every email notification. It would be nice to see them change from time to time, to keep things fresh. Being cosmetic however, I think the chances of getting them changed are very slim.

Because he liked to crush his enemies, and hear the lamentation of their women... No idea Reggie. But I was at their wedding in May 76 so.... I'll eat the other half then shall I.... -
Evening Further to my Star Trek example (not a UKPV) here's a candidate for an off the date grid price variant - the 1983 Superman III film adaptation: I haven't picked up copies of either yet, but the above certainly looks to be a printed UK price box. Comparing the US and UK copies side by side, both have the same covers (apart from the UK price overprint), indicias (both 'printed in the US'), inside covers and back covers: So the only printed difference that I can see at this point is the cover price. Any difference in colour strike may be down to the photos (lifted from the Bay), not the books. I'll see if I can pick copies up at some point to compare paper and print quality but on the face of it this does seem to be a 'proper' UKPV and, if so, it would become the latest dated copy known. Interwesting, it is...

Hi @dena, it's been over a month since you last posted - do you have any update for us on any of the outstanding issues raised in this and other threads? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/480195-a-list-of-issues-relating-to-the-mid-december-2020-forum-software-upgrade/ I joined the Invision Community last week to see if I could get some answers to the Journals procedural changes but my posts there remain hidden pending moderator approval. I know you're a busy bee, but a quick update would be much appreciated -

There are always answers Robot. The answer this time is that, if you look more closely, you will see that the #28 is actually two and a half pence, and therefore cheaper than the 12p priced #29 by some considerable margin: And that is because Al Milgrom drew it. Most of his covers were "Earth Shattering Disasters" as it happens.
