  1. I dated a girl who loved stamps once. Philomena Ately her name was. I ditched her for a Miss Black though. First name Penny, if I remember rightly. Now she was a first class gal I'll get my coat.
  2. I think that's The Phantom Lady Google shows there was a page relating to the actual piece in 2018, but it shows as removed when I click on it:
  3. I don't think extra sets of staples have ever set the pulses racing of misprint collectors Serling, sorry. They are one of the few printing mishap scenarios that I actually dislike. My brother had a Hulk #5 once that had no staples. That I liked, as there were no puncture holes and it just seemed cool to me, that the book skipped that part of the process unnoticed. It had a strange virgin feel to it and the fact that it had survived with all contents intact for so long gave it a survivor feel too. Missing colours, the wrong colours, upside down pages, duplicate pages, miscuts - all these things excite those that love a production error (and this thread and others like it prove that they're out there). Duplicate staples bring with them the possibility that they were added after the event to strengthen a book. Maybe that has something to do with it. But unless someone chimes in with a contrary view, I feel they will forever remain as unloved anomalies.
  4. Thanks for that additional info Toby, which follows on from posts earlier in the thread here: Opinion remains divided I believe, if I'm recalling correctly, on what exactly happened...
  5. Brilliant! Go find me the other one Dan. You're my new best friend US Newsstand
  6. Let us know how you get on Carlucci won't you. Hopefully a good news story it will be
  7. Indeed. I know the thread issue range is 1-300, but 1-200 does it for me. Everything you need is in there. Never did like Venom.
  8. Here's my one - in the garage and I must have cut a thousand cardboard oblongs on it down the years (which I find quite therapeutic). Still going strong
  9. I've gone for the run as it's more fun. About 300 times more fun in fact. And it rhymes. But it all depends on your collecting criteria doesn't it KJ. Space, value etc, all play a part. It's often been said, when building a collection, buy the expensive ones first before they are priced out of your reach. But if you stick to just AF15, you'll never own ASM139 and will therefore never know the joy that is The Mindworm. That fact alone should guide you.
  10. Crikey, what a difference! It still is translucent though I see - the image of GAs book didn't look that way, leading some to believe it was a counterfeit. The scanned version looks very legit to me, even with nerd eyes
  11. As Lizard Brain said, You say the book came in a shipment of 25 - was there any damage to the box? Were any of the other books damaged? If not, then it looks to me like this damage occurred during encapsulation as I can't see how shaking the book would cause such a pronounced crease at the top like that: It doesn't look like it has been dropped, as the case has no cracks. So if you shook it like mad, the top edge would protect the top corner from bending like that, wouldn't it? Contact CGC as has been suggested. I'm sure they'll put it right if it came in a 25 book submission. Good luck
  12. Incidentally, we know from @GACollectibles thread above that CGC would encapsulate this simply as 'Sticker attached to cover' were you to submit it: Whilst your book is a cool talking point, the absence of any printed difference from a regular copy of Marvel Tales #102 denies it any official 'variant status', if that makes sense.
  13. That's a thing of wonder Warlord You should post it here too: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/457846-amazing-spider-man-184-all-detergent-has-anyone-seen-this-version/#comments Bound to get a few more comments. The sticker looks good when compared to a 184: In its favour it has the translucent appearance that most legit copies have: I'd be interested to hear what @Spider-Variant and others think. There's bound to be many nay-sayers. If only it had no price....
  14. I don't mind the detail TheDude. It's a reminder of how difficult things can be for others and I'm glad you shared it. The virus has been a real kick in the teeth for those already battling health conditions, adding an extra layer of anxiety and restriction that they could well do without. I hope you continue to make progress and keep posting away here. Keep battling on and keep finding your daily diversion here among the mighty world of comicana
