  1. If I do, I'll publish it under the pseudonym of 'Buster Gonad'
  2. Just you and me lately Pete, it seems. I thought my Atomic Mouse tale might garner a comment or two if not a titter or three. Never mind.... Feast your eyes on this last one. It's one of a number that I've been looking for for so long, and who've all arrived together. Lockdown seems to be bringing them all out, which is nice. Like buds and spawn. Anyway, Sue and Sally there, flying about. The heroines of our threads title no less. And our current choice of avvy too. Praise them Pete, the Nurses. Praise them
  3. Ah, bless you Geoff. What a lovely post to log on and find this evening. I hope my love for the medium came through as you endured read through the thread. Who gives a hoot what the big copies are worth, eh? Look at all those lovely tatty old books hiding at the other end of the spectrum (see also 'Charlton Comics') Just in case you may have missed it, many do here, you can find the up to date summaries and issues numbers for all seven pence publishers in the link below, as well as some other old research ramblings: Morlar's Doom Palace of Doom You're welcome to pop back any time Geoff. I like hearing from people like you who understand. Thanks for posting my unknown friend and welcome to the forum - it made my evening Steve
  4. Afternoon I found a new title to add to the list - the first for some time - The Adventures of Spider-Man (priced AUS $1.50): It's a second wave book, and adds an extra 8 issues to the actual number of books in the date ranges: Interesting that they remembered to drop the 'only 99c' blurb from the cover: I don't think it's one of the X-Men flipbooks by the way, an existing confirmed AUS title, as it is priced at $1.50 and those are all $3.20 (I've asked the seller if they'd check though). I can't find a picture of a US newsstand copy anywhere to see if the price differs / 99c blurb is present on that but seem to recall it was (I used to have the set back in the day, and the flipbook set too) Anyway, 1,290 confirmed AUS price variants now of a maximum possible, albeit certain to be much less, 1,711 eligible US comics See ya
  5. That's quite the in comic lately that one. A great cover with Osborne sweating away there in the background at the thought of the impending nuptials. And given the (horrific) JMS storyline that was to come, an oddly prophetic cover to, as it turns out.
  6. Good man You won't get any competition from me - I've recently drawn a line around my now limited collecting habits. Regarding the increased competition, it's one of the reasons I bang the drum on labelling - if CGC are starting to grade more and more foreign publications it would make sense to get the labelling right now before too many of them are out there. They are aware of my thoughts, so we'll see. I think if you truly love comics then these books will appeal, especially to those who may have effectively run out of US originals to collect. If you're a completist say, or even if you just love cool looking covers, some of these books are hard to resist and have their own unique charm. It makes you wonder if you should keep quiet doesn't it - posting about them increases people's awareness and introduces more competition. I swear the prices of Australian price variants shot up as a result of my thread here - which has a bizarrely high views count - and others elsewhere. That's never my intention, to inflate prices, but the research does seem to draw in new buyers and encouraged the less scrupulous to test the water with silly prices.
  7. Not at all. It's actually nice to see the 'reprint' label wording on those copies actually. Keep em coming!
  8. Nice comic. If CGC could only change the wording from 'Edition' to 'Publication' then that would be a perfect label - a 'Mexican Publication' which 'Reprints Amazing Spider-Man #54 in Spanish'. There isn't an original US printed 'El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #73' for this to be the Mexican edition of!
  9. Ahoy Peter! What a time for my tablet to be on 7% Maybe tomorrow. .... Presentation lacks artistic similarity? That is careless man!
  10. Ahoy Peter! What a time for my tablet to be on 7% Maybe tomorrow. ....
  11. More like Tracey D ick with that lippy
  12. @Senormac - what sayest thou to this!
  13. I'm going to run out of likes at this rate! Always loved this pricing format - it looks so damn cool doesn't it:
  14. I see what you mean. That's some pair isn't it. Of alligators I mean
  15. Threads like this keep the boards interesting for me - great covers that we're not used to seeing. Keep it up
  16. The chap in the middle right panel of the first page seems to stand out there, with a quality of art superior to the surrounding panels.
  17. The Alan Class approach to comics - never use a cover once when you can use it twice (or thrice) Brilliant thread Frisco, thanks for sharing
  18. Dentistry aside, I didn't think he looked that bad Andy Alas, I can't contribute any other examples as I haven't got any gold despite panning for years. But I do like the look of this fellow, accurately portrayed or otherwise:
  19. Hello @Brittanyg and welcome to the forum. As @marvelmaniac said, have a check of eBay sold - I typed in '"wizard magazine sealed" and got 133 results: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=wizard+magazine+sealed&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&_sop=16 Whilst they are unlikely to command significant prices, they do sell, individually and in sets, so if you have 3 boxes of them they could bring in a good few dollars depending on what you are looking for and the time you are prepared to put in to sell them. Maybe filter the results to show the highest prices sold and see if there are any issues that sell well due to key characters / content - it looks like some can go for $10-$20 each. Good luck and I hope you make some nice pocket money
