Cover trimmed on the bottom of comic book
Get Marwood & I replied to Zeke11's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Can we see the whole book please? If there was an area of white at the top commensurate with the book being miscut top and bottom, and it had fifteen covers and the printed price was missing then it might be worth grading. Always show the whole book Zeke - it's the only way to live life -
How about a competition where we argue over how a competition is scored? Most ridiculous scoring system wins a goat. Here's mine: One point if you guess correctly whilst only in your underwear but without a bag Two points for a correct guess on a Wednesday Three points if you guess wrong and you're name is Barry Free dogs every time someone farts in Russia Do I get a prize?

Yes, I miss most of the fun for that reason alas. I knew ASM 138 from the first picture! I'll join in when I can - had a busy day yesterday with one thing and another.

Post Your National Diamond Sales Inserts!
Get Marwood & I replied to comicginger1789's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Hi Eric I used to collect these (NDS) and had a full set of ASM at one point along with most of the known MJIs. For Amazing Spidey, these NDS issues exist: Issues #114 and 115 don't exist because they had Mark Jewelers inserts. Here is the ASM range for cardstock MJIs: For ASM, MJI's ran up to issue #349. Here is a list of the books that did not have the inserts (based on my old records which may be out of date): I had some beautiful copies back in the day - here's a few old pictures that I kept: Signed by Romita! This ASM 119 was pristine. Click to enlarge! -
I read it online this morning. Surprisingly entertaining. It's funny, it's a beautiful day here in England and as quiet and still as can be. I'm planning to work through my Charltons and catch up on my scanning as I've been neglecting my threads lately (not that anyone reads them) and haven't posted any of my recent acquisitions for a long time. Reading this comic this morning, and looking at my old comics now, gives me a real sense of loss. Their time is gone. No kid today will likely ever read a book about war mongering frogs in their underwater kingdom with the wonder and excitement that we did years ago. The world was so different back then, simpler and dare I say it kinder. There were still opportunities for simple pleasures and things could still amaze you and leave you in wonder. Today, everything has been done. A click of a mouse and anything can be found. For all its obvious benefits I find it soulless. A soulless age where nothing is new and instant gratification is the way. Would anyone read a comic like that today, ten times over, and wait a month for the next issue? I'm going to wallow in nostalgia this morning and read some crappy old Charltons while I scan them to my files. It's great that I can do that, and type my thoughts here to those reading now. I could buy a comic from my phone while I wait for a bus today. But I wish I was a kid again, computer free, mobile phone free, running to the newsagent to see if the latest paper comic was out.

I might track a few down online and have a read. Especially the frog one

I like comparing them to Marvels Strange Tales. DC always seemed a bit more whacky and inventive. Do they read well?

Some great covers on this title isn't there - this was always a favourite. He looks very happy doesn't he, Mr Frog, as frogs often do. Thanks for posting them all

Bet that was a great gig. I never really got into SLF for some reason. I also like things rougher around the edges. Nothing better than raw, ragged live power is there.

Kind of do... Morning boys. I was expecting pages and pages to have whizzed by. Not sure what everyone is doing, but whatever they're doing, they're not doing it here. Thanks for trying Ditch.
