  1. Jim had some bad news over the weekend - he lost another good friend of his. Send some positive lizard vibes his way Mike.
  2. Thank you! And.... "Aaaaack!" She went from looking too much like an underage porn star to looking too much like an over the hill socialite who's had "work" done And for a second I thought her speech bubble said '...dark curly hairs'
  3. Quite uncommon in my experience, for a double cover to have missing interior pages. If anything, they usually have more. Thinking about it, I can't envisage a scenario where someone would remove the pages from a double cover copy as they are generally highly prized. So it's almost certainly a genuine manufacturing scenario. If you were going to try to create a double cover, you'd need two copies so would be able to replace any missing interior pages too! I jest. Alas, the absence of pages almost certainly negates any premium the double cover might bring. Sorry. Any chance of pictures?
  4. Not sure if it's already been said, but your ebay seller may claim that the grade is 'guaranteed' and cause bother. Why not post a picture in the 'ask CGC' section and see what they say? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/23-ask-cgc/ Or email them. Brittany usually reponds well to customer service issues. It would be interesting for all of us to see how they respond. You could argue that it is their fault that you have paid a 9.8 price for what clearly looks to be a lower condition copy. If it is a grading or labelling error, and not the result of manipulation somehow, then I would imagine they would want to put things right even though you purchased it from ebay. Why not give it a try?
  5. Cool thread Here's my top three for the year. First up, the 15 cent variant of Hot Rods and Racing Cars #56. Insanely scarce and my favourite Charlton 15cv to date. Lovely cover too: Next is another Charlton, this time the pence variant of Secrets of Love and Marriage #25. Another enchanting cover and the first pence copy I've seen for the title which was on my missing list for such a long time. A real thrill when it turned up: Finally, the pence variant of Wyatt Earp #29. I've been looking for a copy of this book for so long, to complete my L Miller indicia research. The story behind it's arrival was a fun one for me and easily the collecting highlight of my year: So, not the most expensive books and certainly of minimal interest to most. But I love em
