  6. SWEETHEARTS! "Barry" "Yes Darling?" "My arse is on fire" "It's certainly hot Darling, heh heh" "No, really" "Oh. Right. I guess that's also why I can't feel my lower half then?" "Dear Anne, This is goodbye. I've met a sailor called Dave and he does things for me that I never thought were possible. Please don't hate me for grasping this one chance of happiness. It may be the only one I get. You'll get over me soon enough, I am sure. We had some great times together, and I will miss your toad in the hole, but please be happy for me. Dave is a wonderful man and I am happy for the first time. Yours truly, Alastair" ("Mmmmm. OK, her 'book collection' sucks big time, but boy can she tongue-wrestle") "Poor Ruth! Sam doesn't deserve her love!" "You fancy her yourself don't you Daphne" "Don't be ridiculous!" ("Oh, but it's true! How I long for some velcro action with Ruth, my forbidden love. I can't deny it!") Poor, misguided Kathy. Pulling two blokes off at the same time never works. Is it any wonder she has nightmares about roses and head bandages? Where were her parents.... (Not the Cal, surely?) "I love you, Cal. I want to be with you always! Please, take me with you!" "I can't Lois, you know that" "Then play our song Cal, one last time. Play it Cal" "Sure Lois. For old times sake" (strums guitar) "You put your left leg in......" SWEETHEARTS! Warning: Too many will kill you
  7. Not much new to report here. I did spot this UK printing of this book here: Not on the GCD: https://www.comics.org/issue/244659/ Anyway, here's the latest current confirmed pence printed price figures, as anticipated keenly, as always, by Three Men and a Dog Like Sparkenwood: Marvel - 3,017 confirmed pence priced variants - down one due to calculation error! DC - 840 confirmed pence priced variants - up one due to calculation error! Charlton - 436 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 832 issues) - up 21 since last report! Dell - 204 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 424 issues) - up 6 since last report! Gold Key - 104 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 168 issues) - up 6 since last report! Archie - 21 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 48 issues) - no change King - 17 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 24 issues) - no change
  8. Two recent Heritage sales: Never a fan of Bob Mcleod's inking. He didn't do the eyes right That's more like it, even if it does appear a little hurried
  9. I found this advert in a 15p copy of Weird Western Tales #69 from July 1980: It took me a few seconds to realise it was advertising this: The GCD has this as July 1981 though - a year after the July 1980 WWT issue. Doesn't seem right does it? I prefer the pence - or should I say 'pound' - copy of course: Also 1981. All good fun
  10. Thanks lighthouse - it will be good to see if the final four are in there (assuming a 36 maximum books overall position). If you get time, a full shot of each book you've found so far would be great for the files / thread history. As and when though - I know you're busy. Cheers, Steve
  11. That's a beauty. It's the only TGK I've yet to find as a 10c L Miller indicia copy. Very scarce book.
  12. This one always made me cringe - something about being in a barn asking to be spared that isn't quite right..... Oh dear. Someone's going to have to break the back doors in... To escape, I mean.
  13. A quick addition to this summary, posted previously: I've added that some of the later 20p issues are missing their cover months - an example below, courtesy of ROM #22: There are quite a few like it and I'll list them all another time
  14. Not strictly a first printing Marvel pence variant of course, but who cares. There's a pence price on it. Haven't seen one of these with the free gift in a long time: And it was only a paper bag!
  15. I was hoping to finally add an AF15 pence copy to the vault the other day. This beauty was up for auction just down the road from me: Auctioneers estimate was £8-£10K. Maybe I could snag it for less? Bidding was fierce! And it ended at £14,500. With a 23% buyers premium, that's just under £18,000 Oh well, maybe one day....
