  1. It's not too bad on my phone and tablet, so maybe it's my desktop monitor? I'll play around and see if I can make it clearer. Probably do need the old eyes checking though. You could have been a little kinder with your intervention of course, and I know you know that. It did get me thinking though that I've probably had my fair share of commentary now on the new boards. I stand by all my CRs and am grateful for any changes Arch takes forward from them. I've tried to keep my views proactive as I want the boards to be the best they can be. It's the project manager in me. Anyway, I'll stick to pence rants, Morlar and general stupidity from now on. Have fun Lazyboy ?
  2. The boards limit my freedom of expression. Oh, and they smell. But to be fair, that might be the aftermath of that one I did in my local McDonalds the other week. I think you know what I'm trying to say here Liz.
  3. Thanks. It will certainly help me if you do, as I still struggle to differentiate new text from quotes, especially when people insert comments into a longer quote. The grey box surrounding the quote is still so faint I can barely see it on my desktop. Example below - makes my eyes hurt!
  4. Thanks Arch. Removing the anonymity addresses my main point so I'm quite relaxed about it now.
  5. ""You certainly have a wide variety of international music tastes over several decades. How about a few more female singers like Nina Simone, Siouxie and the Banshees, Alison Moyet or even the Tom Tom Club" you say.....we shall see...."
  6. I agree - I like the tell tale signs of age, especially those that are the result of the actual creation process. Stan Lee's coffee cup ring, notes by the artist, that kind of thing. I grew up with Ross Andru's Spidey, and always wanted a page by him. I finally got one - MTU #3: If it had been in terrible condition, I'd have passed, as it was only important that I had a page of Ross's work. There are many out there. Same with comics - no point buying a trashed copy when you can buy another good one. But if you want a specific page then you have to go for it whatever it's condition - it's the only one there is! Seems an obvious point, so my answer to the OPs question is that I would only pass on a bad condition page if I wasn't desperate for that specific page. All that said, I wish I had the money to pick and choose!
  7. Three Cheers for The Gold Reading Room! He's at it again this morning, adding wonderful books to the web for us all to read. I didn't want to interrupt the thread, or encourage others to do so, but here I say three cheers to Grantley Goddard. He spends ages posting those scans for our reading pleasure. Grantley - thank you
  8. "Off the rack or accumulated you say....The latter. And don't ask questions that make it difficult for me to end.....we shall see...."
  9. John Morlar cordially invites you to yet again join him in a spectacular countdown of Amazing Spider-Man Pence Price Variants set to the coolest tunes in town. Be there, or be circular. "If you don't start moving at 4.52....."
  10. Coincidentally the wife and I are watching the end of the Peter Jackson film on itv2 in the UK. Kong's just took the plunge. We've both got tears in our eyes. Soppy buggers. How good is Naomi Watts in that film......
  11. Who let Jar Jar Binks in? Me sa Jimmy Olsen
  12. For that, a well deserved like ?
  13. Oh, sorry. Blame Buzz, he started it.
  14. "OK my dear, look up. Now, look down. Look left.....ah, there it is"
