  1. Oh yeah, right. And I suppose you're going to tell us that back in the day Norman Osborn slipped Gwen Stacy one as well are you! Oh, wait... what?!
  2. I'd ask @Architecht to sort it out but he only listens when I shout and I'm feeling a little horse. No, that's not a typo. I just like horses.
  3. Ah, I see. Good tip @Foley well done. Still, its a silly situation if you can't say a famous authors surname though. And didn't we used to at least get a spoon, not a blank space? At this rate I might have to start hating the boards again. What a load of cock.
  4. @Architecht why can Foley say the D word and I can't? What manner of conspiracy is this? Seriously, when I type that word it does not show in the post preview or the post itself?
  5. Jeptha Judge of Israel, how did you do that!?
  6. If there is one, it's very well hidden. The first pence Conan is number 11 at 6p. The date, Nov 71, coincides with the introduction of decimalisation prices so you can kind of see the natural starting point there.
  7. Ah, thanks. At my collecting peak, there was no greater feeling than spotting the blue line along the top edge. I remember spotting my first ASM 179 with the MJI line. Got it home, it was a Pizzazz insert. Still cool, but the search went on. Ended up with about 3 of them in the end. One day, I'll bore everyone with the why did I sell post. I warn you though, it'll take a week to read it ?
  8. I have to look at that every day when I'm on the throne! Re your pic, I love the fact that you can't say Philip K on here
  9. Oops, I meant Wayne of course! Spot on Bosco. Tell me these aren't two of the most stirring pieces in any film and I'll tell you you're bonkers:
  10. Reading this thread makes me very nostalgic. I nearly managed a full set of ASM MJI's back in the day which I thought was a great achievement for a UK collector. Here's an extract of my old collecting book - the white gaps are the ones I didn't manage to get: Does anyone here have an ASM #124? That one really bugged me. I never saw one in 10 years. I'd love to see a picture. My favourite MJI was this one, for obvious reasons! Someone in the US bought it - might have been one of you lot!? Finally, and sorry if this is old news / has already surfaced, but does anyone recall the graded ASM 121 on ebay many moons ago? Worst fake construct I ever saw. If I'm honest, I wish I'd kept my MJIs.....
  11. John Morlar cordially invites you to yet again join him in a spectacular countdown of Amazing Spider-Man Pence Price Variants set to the coolest tunes in town. Be there, or be circular. "Do I have your attention yet.....?"
  12. I've put this spreadsheet together to track the issues I own, or have images of, to see if I can build up a picture. The earliest L Miller indicia I have is May 1960 (Gunsmoke Western #58) and the latest is March 1961 (Gunsmoke Western #63). It's interesting that in March 1961, Thorpe & Porter were distributing Kid Colt Outlaw #97 at the same time L Miller were distributing Gunsmoke Western #63. Also interesting is that both the 9d copy and 10c copy of Kid Colt Outlaw #97 have Thorpe & Porter indicias: 9d Cover 10c Cover I've actually found that a lot - Thorpe & Porter distribution data on every copy of early Marvels - cents and pence.....

  14. Thanks! Yep, you won't find Thor 304 or 305 for that reason. Or 300 it seems, probably because it was a double size issue.
