My new default home page for the boards is the "Content I Posted In" activity stream. If I care about a topic I post in it, so that one page shows all new posts in threads across all forums in one place. Once or twice every day or two I'll actually navigate into forums to check for new posts I might be interested in.
Oh dear, I just tried that and I appear to be responsible for considerably more nonsense that I thought I was.

Basically, it's not the size of the font that is the issue. It's the amount of info displayed on screen. All of the other themes basically allow for one or two posts to be viewed at a time. Pinch zoom allows for multiple posts. If you were to extend the width of posts in this theme, even more allowable info would be allowed and more posts on the screen at once eliminating scrolling.

Is there a way to see threads you created? I can see my posts in my profile but didn't see a threads option?
If you click on "See my activity" in your profile:
......over to the right you'll then see "Topics" under Forums in All Activity:

Hope somebody hear can help me, my question is...
Spider-Man 151, I've come across a copy with a Mark Jewellers advert inside, and one without… Would the one without be a green label? or would the one with just be considered a variant?
Thanks
Lloyd
Hi Lloyd,
That's normal, the inserts were only placed in a small percentage of the run intended for Military Bases. Everything you need to know should be here:
http://www.awe4one.com/NDS-MJ Inserts/Insert webpage.html
CGC usually just note 'Mark Jewellers Insert' on the label.

Hello.
Last year, I started this thread about different price fonts on early Marvels:
During the debate, the board member EwanUK posted an image of a 10c copy of Gunsmoke Western #63 with additional UK indicia data.
I'd seen it posted before and thought it was interesting so I started to look for more. Here are some images that I have collected since:
L Miller were known for producing reprints of Marvel Western titles so it was a surprise to see their distribution data on US originals (note 60 and 63 are cents copies, 58 is a pence).
I kept looking and finally found an L Miller line in another title (I like mucking about with graphics by the way):
So far, this is the only copy of RK I have found. There may be others, but they come up very infrequently in the UK.
In most cases I do have images of copies that do not have the L Miller data, making all the above copies variants.
As it stands, we can probably say now that Thorpe & Porter were not the 'sole distributors' of Marvel comics to the UK as is often stated. These four comics seem to prove otherwise.
I'm going to keep looking, and will report back if I find any further examples. If anyone in the UK has any early Western titles, take a look at their indicias would you?
Cheers, Steve

Hello.
I thought I'd resurrect this subject, albeit in a new thread. New boards, new thread. And besides, my previous thread title was a bit of a mouthful.
Currently, I have documented 2,992 Marvel comics with pence only printed prices published between the dates of:
- May 1960 - the date of the first known single 9d price printed comics (e.g. Gunsmoke Western #58, JIM #58, Strange Tales #75)
- December 1981 – the last month before consistent dual pence/cents pricing commenced (a nice easy tie off, effectively ending the existence of pence only priced variants).
They are documented on a spreadsheet that looks like this......
.....and I have scans / images of every comic saved in folders like this:
If you are interested in pence variants, here are some observations:
- The first Pence only printed Marvel comics found are Gunsmoke Western #58 and Journey Into Mystery #58 cover dated May 1960. No Pence printed issues dated prior to May 1960 have been found
- The last Pence only printed Marvel comics are cover dated December 1981. From January 1982, Marvel introduced dual Cents / Pence pricing for all their Direct Editions (Newsstand Editions remained Cents only priced)
- No Pence copies have been found for comics cover dated December 1964 to July 1965 inclusive. Most monthly titles have a 9 or 10 issue gap around these dates
- Almost every title which crosses the cover dates of October 1966 to December 1966 has a two issue Pence gap. This may explain why ASM Completists haven’t found #42 and #43 yet. They probably don’t exist. Ditto Avengers 33/34, Daredevil 21/22, Fantastic Four 56/57, Sgt Fury 35/36, Tales To Astonish 85/86. However, Strange Tales only misses one issue (#151) as does Tales of Suspense (#84). Two-Gun Kid has all issues as Pence copy but as a bi-monthly title you can see there may have been a missing issue had it been monthly
- No Pence copies have been found for comics cover dated December 1967 to March 1969 inclusive – 16 issue gap
- No Pence copies have been found for comics cover dated April 1974 to July 1974 inclusive. This 4 issue gap coincides with the transition from 6p to 7p
- No Pence copies have been found for comics cover dated February 1981 to March 1981 inclusive. This 2 issue gap coincides with the transition from 15p to 20p
- Many single issues do not appear to exist when the issue was double sized, e.g. Avengers #200, Astonishing Tales #8, Ghost Rider #50, The Invaders #41, Thor #300, X-Men #137
- No Pence copies have been found for the ‘Giant Size’ titles of 1974 and 1975
- Only 5 annuals have been found as Pence only printed copies, all cover dated 1965 (Amazing Spider-Man #2, Fantastic Four #3, Journey Into Mystery #1, Marvel Tales #2, Sgt Fury #1)
Whilst I am fairly confident that I know what exists for the majority of the 200 titles which cross the applicable dates, there are some titles - especially the early ones - which have gaps where a pence version may exist.
Here is a list of some of the titles and issue numbers which may yet turn out to have a pence version:
If anyone reading has a pence version of one of these, do let me know - I'll update this thread if and when I find any new ones, or if anyone wants to talk pence related stuff.
I'll end with a scan of a recent addition
Cheers!

Hey Arch, for the most part I like the new boards. There's one thing though . You can't preview your post before you post.
You can Oak, little magnifying glass just left of the B for bold text

Oh, well yeah, that's pretty critical to the explanation. Yes, guests are more limited significantly than logged in users on search. That's purposeful. Search can be a pretty big load on the system, so it's constrained for random visitors.
There isn't a formal process for how soon you'll get a reply on a change request or if we'll do it. If we DO make a change to respond to a change request, I do try to respond directly to the request, or if I know for a fact we aren't going to do it, I'll respond. The grey area in the middle is pretty variable. When it's unclear how difficult it is, and the votes are low then it may languish for a while until it either becomes more urgent, or gets scoped and turns out to be cheap.
We can try to make an effort to give a general idea of the viability of a request, though, so it isn't just hanging out feeling like it didn't get seen.
OK, thanks Arch. Sorry if I sent you on a wild goose chase with the search error screen. I find it easier to navigate when I'm signed out for some reason. There seems to be less going on visually when you're signed out. If keylines, hovering and thread titles get acted upon, I promise I'll start making jokes about how good the boards are

My buddy growing up loved Conan comics. He pronounced it "Kah-nan". I kept telling him it was "Cone-an". Finally the 1st Conan movie came out and settled that argument.
Conan was another one we got wrong. We said Con-un not the Coe-nan it turned out to be in the film. I just can't bring myself to say Coe-nan in public.
Great music opened that film though. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure......

Arch, assume you're reading this thread. I haven't seen any update on the searching issue above but I just duplicated my search whilst logged in and there was no error message. I logged out, repeated the search and got the 'wait 7 seconds' error message again. So there may be different responses built in based on log in status?
Your "What are the known issues with the new boards and their status?" thread seems to have dried up. Is this still where I should look for the latest on CRs raised / change activity or is that in another place? The are so many sections and sub-sections in the 'Questions!' forum now it's virtually impenetrable. I have three CRs sitting with votes in the 'Questions with no best answer' section - see screen shot below. When / how will I know if they are viable / approved?
Cheers
