  1. Mixed signals Sigma reminds me of a guy who was in the banking business with me. If he showed up at a meeting, or at a branch wearing a green tie, it meant someone was getting fired that day. Young guy with the power of the Grim Reaper concerning employment. I digress, but these are crazy times. Glad we can have a little fun here.
  2. This is very cool.love it or loathe it, it will be very interesting to see where these price out per page. ASM 352 will sell again eventually. Suffering from recency bias? I'll be watching.
  3. I remember this one from the HA European Auctions a few years ago. Went for a pretty penny + if I recall correctly.
  4. I love the CAF comments. Some were fairly harsh, but I thought this one, by Court Gebeau, was spot on. I love the way his left tit comes out from behind his right tit so it can be seen, too! Liefeld is obviously a superhero, too...since he can so easily bend the rules of anatomy to serve his own evil plans!
  5. I tried to find a better Steve Rolston drawing than yours after you posted this here. Couldn't find one I liked better. Sometimes, you find yourself in the right place, at the right time. The man really came through for you. Cheers!
  6. Very tight pencils by Big John. Of course John's brother Sal inked Romita's published cover. This one is perfect just the way it is. and it better conveys the serious hurt being put upon our cosmic hero.
  7. "Nobody does it better, makes me feel sad, for the rest." "Nobody does it, half as good as you. Baby your the best." ---Carly Simon, obviously singing about Walt Simonson.
  8. Not only is this the earliest and only DD and Matt M. illustration that has surfaced.... Top left panel from Daredevil #1 pg. 20 April 1964 side by side with the Matt Murdoch drawing from Bill Everett’s sketch pad Lower left panel from Daredevil # 1 pg. 22 April 1964 side by side with the Daredevil drawing from Bill Everett’s sketch pad
  9. I loved Siousse and the Banshees. When I first saw this version of Death I was blown away. Reminds me of my eighties crush. This page is in the wrong auction house. That being said I'd expect a healthy final hammer price.
  10. I love Loretta Young. So beautiful and quite the actress. This is a terrific sequence of art, mag, artist reaction. Very happy to see this one here. ps. Kudos for adding the museum glass the piece is worthy of protection
  11. Michael Adamstrange has to be kidding right? I can't speak for him, but it feels like the chosen examples of redundancy of soup cans, and Lichtenstein , who's taken a beating on the boards before, were chosen to troll the notion that Frazetta is not original.
  12. “When I painted Death Dealer and Silver Warrior back to back, I had been sitting on my laurels, just going through the motions. Then there was a rumor that really disturbed me. People were saying I was washed up and that I hadn’t produced anything in years. That was the loyalty I got? It made me decide to crush them and show them the old spirit. I sat down and bam, Death Dealer and Silver Warrior were born. They were both better than anything I had ever created before. It’s a crazy game I like to play” - Frank Frazetta . Death Dealer 1 (1973) oil on masonite Whatever this would auction for, say 5 years from now, there is nothing in the fine art world I would desire more at the same price. Nostalgia sure. But I can't think of a better cultural representation then this one. This one will be remembered for centuries to come. It's that damn good and it will speak to the people of the future. Death comes for us all. This image is the last thing we'll all see before moving on to our place in eternity . I'm sure of it. No I can't prove it. Don't ask me to. 💀 ⚰️ 🍇 🦍
  13. We had subways 500 years ago? I guess so, I mean that lovely lady is a dead ringer
  14. I was talking to a new friend about the Frazetta Molly Hatchet album covers just this week. Than I saw Sienkewicz' Frazetta version (yours) on Twitter. Than my new friend informed me that Dark Victory was now at HA. Now you post here. 6 degrees of Frank Frazetta.
  15. This comes from the deepest of black holes. To see it on our thread inspires me. Something like this disappears and most collectors wonder if it survived the bin. It's an absolute treasure thank you so much for letting us see it.
  16. You: I never got the appeal of Frazetta You: I enjoy his pieces too Also, granted there are better paintings/ painters in the fine art world. But are there better fantasy/comic art paintings you'd prefer dollar for dollar? I'm just curious which ones you'd like? This is not meant to goad you. It's just fascinating to me. It seems there are two camps. 1) everything Frazetta touches is a masterpiece or 2) 😑 MEH..... he's no (fill in fine artist of choice) in comparison or dismiss him in general as not worthy of standing in a fine art gallery with the well heeled foo foo art society.
  17. Everyone in favor of Jim Warden sitting this one out say aye !!! CGC = board unanimous the ayes have it. Consignor = NOT SO FAST !!!
  18. I can't unsee this. Is this the tryout for Conan The Barbarian.
  19. Bill Finger. Legend. Credit so long overdue. Its coming now but he deserved to hear the praise during his living years. The signatures look good though I'm far from an expert. Those daily proof sheets are a part of our collecting history. They belong here, out of the shadows. What magic to behold. I'm so grateful to you and to everyone for sharing.
