  1. This one belongs to my pal Corey. 10 comments since 2009 and 2 were mine. Silver Surfer 32 DPS pg.2-3 penciled by Ron Frenz and finished by the late great Joe Sinnott. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=38824#.Y_tsTCnIS1A.link
  2. I always assumed dealers who leave art (SOLD) on their websites do so for advertising purposes. As an example, let's say a dealer sells a piece by Frank Miller, they want you to know they sell and buy that quality of artist. Maybe the dealer sells a DKR 1-4 page, marks it sold and leaves it there as a badge of prestige. Look at the quality of art I (dealer) traffic in. I do agree there are other factors, already mentioned: software, link to artist name, pure laziness I don't mind sold art sitting on sites as much as the OP but I certainly empathise with what bothers him. As cstojano already mentioned if the site has specific option filters by all means use them. Browse only for sale items.

  4. Bid strong and help make a good woman happy for our friend's sake!!! Thats some nice artwork.
  5. Back in nineties at SDCC I came across an entire portfolio of pencil headshots. I have my Silver Surfer but I missed on so many more. I wish I had bought the entire book (at least 50) with examples of Thor, Spidey, THE FF.... if I remember correctly they were -$80-$100 a piece. My brother grabbed a couple one was a great Thor.... I can't remember the other might've been Spidey/Parker half face.
  6. Gene Colan pencils are wonderful. Let's not forget the world of comics greatest inker Joe Sinnott. I love those Joe Sinnott tight pencil only drawings he did. I have one Silver Surfer pencil and one pencil and inked by Joe. I love them both but the pencil only is my favorite.
  7. I understand there are some good folks wishing the best for Conny. Right now I think it's prudent to wait until we all hear from her publicly. In the meantime continue to pray for her health and well being if you would be so kind. 👍 👍
  8. $200 bucks for any Tony Daniel admirer c'mon you get 🦇MAN + JOKER that's a very nice price. Well done man!
  9. That Red Sonja should be a cover somewhere if it's not already. 👍 👍
  10. Sweet Krispy Kreme donuts! It made it so far..... luckily not into the hands of a trusting auction winner. Makes you think. I would hope the consignor can help shed light on provenance step retracing. This can't be the only one the counterfeiter made. Hopefully it's the only one that's come to market.
  11. Yes, a very Merry Christmas to all. It's always nice throwing comments out and reading the thoughts of my fellow boardies. I wish the best for all of you and your families. This time of year hopefully brings everything into perspective so far as what's truly important. ☮️ on 🌎 love one another 🍇 + 🦍
  12. Haha Rick I think so. At first I thought they meant Rick2you2 Phantom Stranger really had me twisted.
  13. Yeah my reasons for not posting a "sub par" commission/sketch would have to do with my unhappiness with the result. It might be a good idea though to post our "bad" drawings. Perhaps some artists need the embarrassing punishment/discipline
  14. I can help you Richard Rae. Here's my address. You send me your Frazetta art first.
  15. No you fat ba***rd. How could we forget you? You're in every auction now. I mean, we talk about you EVERY freaking auction now. "Us???" We see you Heritage Auctions.
  16. If that's the case then HA would be the auctioneer and sole benefactor? In that case I would predict a similar final outcome. It's a magnificent Bagley example I hope it finds a legit home. I wish I could get the job done. Venom looks creepy and cool.
  17. I hear your concern but all you can do is what you've already put in to action. You contact the auction house. As you mentioned emails can get overlooked so follow up with a phone call. Remember to provide as much verifiable info that you can. Include any supporting documentation. Imagine asking HA to change a listing based on our say so without receipts. Not going to happen. I've helped some collectors get proper credit at C-Link for missing attributions. They were good about making updates. I'm surprised how many people trust the auction house explicitly to be error free. It's always up to the buyer to beware. To know what they are pursuing independent of any descriptive listings and claims within. Overall I think HA in particular but also C-Link do a pretty good job of correctly/accurately describing their lots.
  18. Without Romita inks I'm surprised at the hammer price. Can't argue with the great action and imagery though. Spidey and Doc Ock all over this one.
  19. What else would one infer from the way you wrote this? You shouldn't be sensitive I gave you credit for this post and good intentions. The problem is we have someone other then Conny giving us information so how reliable is it I just don't know.
