  1. Much neater than John Byrne's closet before JW got in there and cleaned it up.
  2. Mishras Workshop artist proof signed by Kaja Foglio The little scratch bottom left is on the card holder not card.
  3. Agreed. Can't even acknowledge this as a flip it meets the technical terms but it feels more like an an auction undersell. It's really beautiful art.
  4. There is merit to what you say. I think some folks put the work in to upload the image, then they completely fail to give any info on how they got it or what it means to them. I can be persuaded to get caught up by another collector's enthusiasm..... and more likely to comment seriously or at all.
  5. The Jim Aparo BM 415 pg. 18 791/1 ratio is tragic.
  6. If John or Terry did it..... I think it adds value. If some random guys chopped it in their workshop As it's all original art from the published comic, I think the bidders have already spoken on just how little it curtails their trigger finger.
  7. The X-men 124 page with Storm is the reason my brother and I anxiously awaited each riveting issue with allowance in hand as youths. EBay is 🗑 but I'll admit it's nice to see these here instead of HA..... it reminds me of early 2000's when you would go through at least 10 full pages of quality art, no "reproductions, acetates, she hulk drawings catered to feet and bust fetishists. and Jake Kilbey splashes in the manner and likeness of the artist. As far as deals go, I'm afraid these pages are being pounded just like any other auction. I really appreciate that X-men 124 page just apex Byrne greatness.
  8. That splash went for $93,000 with bp I thought it should've gone higher. ASM 69 is a collector's favorite issue and the pages always do well. I must say this one surprised me at the final hammer. Never saw it getting that high. I prefer other pages from that book particularly the four panel Spidey Kingpin fight pages. Every page is unique and it's not so cut and dry what's more valuable. Used to be a pecking of highest value order left to right Cover, splash, interior panel pages. That doesn't hold as certainly as it once did.
  9. Make that 3 comments now based on the top panel which is classic.
  10. That stinks! I assure you it wasn't me. So that can only mean.....
  11. Am I the only one that gets that extra feeling of joy and happiness seeing a Marcus Wai CAF comment post 2022 "controversy?" I've attached his CAF link how can you not love a guy who lists Let Me Ask My Brother under his CAF Art by Artists Listing? https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=3934#.ZAxSjxD6GAU.link
  12. Guy Davis Sandman Mystery Theater #1 pg. 16 The most important page in the book. Does anyone care to hazard a guess as to why that claim by the gallery owner LB Jefferies might be true? Posted 11/29/2010 466 views and just 3 comments :-( https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=702818#.ZAxBm12v1PA.link
  13. OK cool idea for a thread wish more of you would play along. Here's something from my gallery 2019 posted with 377 views but 0 comments: You guys that are old enough remember Mr. Monster right? Doc Stern...Mr. Monster #1 came out in 1986 and my convention drawing is from the SDCC in 1986. Where is the love? https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=35271#.ZAw-Pw128-o.link
  14. Finances dead, feelings are blue, not a chance in hell, I can buy anything from you (HA)
  15. I'm pretty comfortable and confident in spending other people's money and pushing that red bid submit button.
  16. Pat and Shelly Block info@disneyanaplus.com They are amazing DD related artists. They do beautiful work.
  17. Very nice selection of art. The Bagley ASM 352 cover is one that really should have sold for more at auction. That image of Spidey has the iconic Bagley "look" that marks that period of time.I'm not saying it's easy to pony up the cash for a cover like that but I suspect whoever gets it is going to be happy to own such a representative piece of art by Bagley. I've really grown to appreciate many artists over the last thirty years. When I first started collecting it was Kirby, Kirby and more Kirby. Kirby is king. But man some of these cats in the nineties could really lay down some excellent work.
  18. Looks like one of the lads from Depeche Mode. Keep the fine commentary and links coming my friends. Grapeape just can't get enough :-)
  19. JIM Annual 1 Jack Kirby https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=2452#.ZAF4l-czRKo.link 12 comments on one of the earliest existing Kirby Marvel Covers 1965. posted in 2009.
  20. I think Gumbydarnit has a good suggestion. If you take the time to look at a piece featured in this thread please take a moment to leave that gallery a comment. Maybe if it's not your cup of tea, you can still speak to the art even if it's to acknowledge the level of appreciation the gallery owner describes the work. It would be really cool for some of these folks who took the time to share their art to get recognized, in some cases years or even a decade + since posting the art.
  21. Bernie Wrightson Zombie: This originally appeared in the "Creatures Featured" portfolio. 3,698 views but only 8 comments and posted all the way back on 7/2009. A psychology major could field a prize winning sample size and question just what goes on in the heads of CAF art viewers who decide not to touch the keyboard in front of them with at least one sentence describing in what way they felt/experienced the art. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=12441
  22. Gumbydarnit great idea for a thread thanx you my friend. I chose this one from Thor 421 pg. 18 by Ron Frenz and Joe Sinnott. Posted in 2020 it has 432 views but only 8 comments. You have a face off between two long time Avengers in panel 2. The set up begins in panel 1 where we see an absolutely livid, seething Thor. Cap tries to soothe him asserting that the source of Thor's anger is an Avengers priority now but there are mere mortal men with phenomenal powers..... and then, there are gods. Panel two, Thor locks eyes with Cap, he's so furious and determined to seek his own justice that a humbled Cap submits. The bottom panel of Thor flying with Mjolnir leading the way is wonderfully designed by the Frenz/Sinnott duo. It's very reminiscent of the 1974 The Mighty Thor Treasury Edition 3 cover found in our pal Dino's awesome collection. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1671685#.Y_tulZOw72k.link
