Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes a day. The average Ho***d St**n fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes. Kenny: How could this be? Researcher: Answer most commonly given: "I want to see what he'll say next." Kenny: : All right, fine. But what about the people who hate Ste*n? Researcher: Good point. The average Ster* hater listens for two and a half hours a day. Kenny: : But... if they hate him, why do they listen? Researcher: Most common answer: "I want to see what he'll say next."
  2. I can’t do anything now but really nice pieces and priced fair. That Death Dealer 1 page by Bisley really stood out.
  3. I was just looking at someone’s website and scrolling down the new items to see what wasn’t SOLD?
  4. This is one where the flip maybe makes sense. $420 seemed light for this but I am an unabashedly biased Rude supporter.
  5. What a service to the collecting public Alex. Thank you so much!!
  6. I love Brian’s work. Glad you got to the show 👍
  7. Who are some of the hard to find artists you have tracked down? Did it lead to something amazing? A commission? A published page? A never before known story?
  8. *CBG Comic-Book Superstars Back in 1993 Don and Maggie Thompson edited a CBG book with the following information: *Current address, office address, agents name and address(as of 1993) Have you been trying to get an address to reach a particular artist? Remember these are good as of 1993 so •Some of our heroes have passed away • Addresses may have changed PM me and if I have the address I’ll forward it to you privately.
  9. Michael in principle I mainly lean towards Gene’s opinion of price paid + BP. At that price point sales tax paid does not factor into setting the new FMV imho. *On your point though certainly If I add up Price + BP + sales tax = x...... whatever that comes to, you can be sure at minimum that’s the price you’re going to pay me to get it. I’m not taking a loss. I don’t buy big enough to benefit from write offs. If I sell it at that price or higher than that sets a new reliable FMV. Whatever taxes the new owner pays in my opinion does not contribute to that valuation. When the new owner sells, if he gets at minimum what he paid total including sales tax, than that sets FMV not including whatever that new owner pays in taxes. Repeat. Repeat, Good point though Michael.
  10. You absolutely should Brian. In fact I always assumed BP was your initials for advising HA, and the 20% was your fee not the House.
  11. I’m working on buying the King of New York Mural anyways. But nah, I have to remove it brick by brick than reassemble in sunny so cal....which would be sacrilegious. Long reign Christopher Wallace and Tupac. ☮️
  12. Keep ya head up 🎵—Tupac Keep your head down— the rest of us
  13. It's the album that came out after Pac's death and with various references to his impending doom it's an album fans find memorably prophetic. It's also the album cover that offers an actual artistic interpretation of Pac as opposed to his best album All Eyez on Me. So I think it's a strong number at this point in time. I think as we pass another generation to 2040 a resell should bring a much stronger number. I'm thinking of *Sugar Shack by Ernie Barnes though I won't go on record saying it will hit $15,000,000. *Sugar Shack by far the superior art work
  14. Comp “pricing” archives, yea. But this piece, yes you’d find cool while reading a comic book, but as a stand alone display art object, it’s I don’t know, busy?confusing? As a display piece what are you paying for? 🕷-Man is camouflaged big time.Clever as it is the page fails to scream “show me off” like a page full of webs and such. I compared to the way McFarlane might layout a jumbled Lizard page. Some Collectors don’t like that either but McFarlane is better at it than most. I think to a point bidders were willing to support this one, then said let me live to bid another day or on another lot. Now here’s where I contradict myself. This page will likely flip at $20-22k. People will remember this piece and think maybe they should have grabbed it. Larsen. Cheap compared to ASM Larsen and more room to grow.
  15. I wasn’t there, but I wish I was there. So I tell people, “I wasn’t there.” Then I smile and wink 😉 knowingly, Sometimes when I tell my tall tale I light a cigar and stare off Northward, towards the Canadian woods. I’m imagining Wendigo is there, lurking. The roar of a wounded behemoth. Then the cracking of branches under foot. All the tranquil silence broken by ferocious sounds.... KDOW! PHTOP! PWOK! ”All right you freaks, just HOLD IT !” ”If you really want to tangle with someone.....” S N I K T ...” why not try your luck against- - THE WOLVERINE!” I wasn’t there 😉 I was on route 180 181 was a month and a mile away.....
  16. I agree. For what it is and the time period, this final hammer not bad at all.
  17. You’re killing me please stop or not
  18. I’m so jealous of the new owner. What a piece of history. It’s easy to spend other people’s money when we talk on here. Still I will say as much as it cost this was money well spent.
  19. Congrats man. That’s one of the most beautifully drawn pages one could ever lay eyes on. Bill Everett yes 👍
