  1. Based on the upcoming heritage auction it’s probably not that highly priced. It’s a really good example of a Buscema Rom page. If I was prioritizing one, I’d probably figure out how to make a deal for it.
  2. I’d get an Invincible page while you can at these prices. Although the art isn’t as nice, the pages from issue 1 went got crazy high numbers for non Marvel or DC modern book.
  3. To each their own. Glad you enjoy it. That’s all that matters.
  4. It’s classic Kirby. Krakle. Cosmic. Thor. Some people actually like that.
  5. The stupid automatic bias against any Colletta-inked Kirby probably hurt it. But, Colletta did a great job on this page.
  6. I'd rather spend that money on one of the R Crumbs. Pretty sure those will be worth something in 20 years.
  7. I was at work. Which is why these Friday afternoon auctions suck.
  8. Man. That Thor #160 page by Kirby and Colleta is gorgeous, and someone got it for a frigging steal.
  9. People are massively overpaying for Freak Brothers art. Who is going to want that stuff in 20 years when all the old hippies die off?
  10. A whole bunch of Kubert Sgt. Rock covers were just auctioned off at Weiss. Price range was about $7500 to $15000
  11. I just bought an Invincible page. Not for $36K, of course.
  12. Remember, Picasso's distorted anatomy paintings were also considered grotesque at one point.
  13. I think it's twofold. 1) Prices are way too high; 2) The quality and variety of pieces is not as good -- or is basically stuff that we have seen on eBay or other places in the past few months that have been languishing.
  14. There was a really nice ROM page that Anthony put up.
  15. Marvels' problem is that all the pre-Endgame films were interconnected and built to something. The films after that seem disjointed and incoherent. So people don't know how this film connects to anything else. Marvel didn't make films that just stood on their own, so the audience isn't looking for that. My proposal to Kevin Feige would be to create a "Marvel Team Up" series of films, which are self-contained stories involving two characters from the MCU who don't usually work together, or who had very little interaction. You could, theoretically, tentpole it with Spider-Man, but it could just as easily be Captain Marvel. You could even do it as a crossover with other franchises.
  16. On the tax thing. You ALWAYS had to pay taxes on capital gains. You would technically have to pay this tax if you made a cash deal in your living room. The only change the law made was that now Pay services like PayPal issue a 1099 so you can't avoid paying the capital gains tax if you use those services. The reporting Threshold is $600, but it's not a new tax.
  17. I wish someone would reboot Space:1999. Call it "Moonbase Alpha" and jettison the dateline. In fact, I have a terrific idea for it. (Which I will only share with whomever owns the TV or film rights).
  18. Hey guys. I’m taking offers for this piece I “own.” 😉 Starting bid is $250 million.
