  1. I just shipped some art to a France via USPS. It took 3 weeks to get there, with one LONG two week delay in Detroit. It just sat there, apparently.
  2. That policeman on the end to the far right. Looks like a character illustration from Curious George. I highly, highly doubt its H.A. Rey, though.
  3. A little harsh. But this is the type of page that sits on eBay forever with a BIN of $250
  4. More like a few hundred. Unless there’s some special significance to this page.
  5. It took me a while to even notice Spider-Man’s silhouette in the window.
  6. Whoa. That Frazetta Vampirella painting.
  7. https://www.invaluable.com/artist/willis-martin-wayne-gxnqjeb4f0/sold-at-auction-prices/ https://ksoutdoors.com/KDWP-Info/News/News-Archive/2010-Weekly-News/4-1-10/WILDLIFE-ARTIST-WAYNE-WILLIS'-WORK-ON-DISPLAY-IN-EL-DORADO
  8. Go find a local art gallery and ask them if they do insurance appraisals for artwork.
  9. Just ignore those posters. I do. I’m sure they rant and say dumb stuff about me, but I never see it.
  10. I started a thread a few years ago about how IG art was becoming the next Watchmen. I also pointed out that Lim IG art was a cheap buy then as it would eventually start catching up with the Perez pages because younger collectors just don’t care about the distinction and like Lim’s cosmic art style. I agree $33k is crazy for this page. But I predicted this.
  11. I hear the latest upcoming Sotheby’s auction has a Monet, a Picasso and a Rembrandt. I have just as much chance of landing one of them as the Kirby, Steranko or Ditko.
  12. People are already predicting a stock market correction soon.
  13. No. It’s being fueled by crazy speculation right now. But it will collapse of it’s own weight, regardless of what happens to other asset classes, I think.
  14. Comic books are going the way of sport cards in the 90’s. Gonna be a hard crash when nobody wants all those low ratio variant covers. Original art will not falter as a market. The pieces are unique. They’re not Beanie Babies.
  15. Trimpe also did the pencils for the beautiful Machine Man mini series.
  16. Lee. See, Adam’s, Neal. Sal has far less height to fall from.
  17. Not unless we massively retract the money supply by pegging the dollar to the price of gold.
  18. Herb, like Sal Buscema, was a good sequential storyteller. I like his work on Godzilla. Hulk, not so much.
