  1. or, check in with Mary Worth, leading daily comic strip character. She always knows.
  2. 5.0 at the best. The pictures are not sufficiently enough in focus to judge it better.
  3. If you are looking at shooting fish in a tuna can, now's not the time. While comics bring a great deal of pleasure to those of us that collect, I don't know many who collect simply on the basis of uptick in value as assured. Stocks are a far easier way to make short term money and they are far easier to sell if the need arises. The Marvel titles FF4 and ASM have proven to pull value as titles more than other marvel books. I think Batman and Superman have done that at DC. I don't think you'll see high percentage returns right away on stuff that doesn't get held for a substantial time. I kept all my JIM and Thor because I love them. If it was cash, Mastercard would be a far better choice. But cash it's not and Hela remains Hot, Odin needs an optician, and Loki a career counsel service. It's part of why Marvel has always attracted me. The characters all have zits ( except for Hela. She's flawless). If Thor goes up, my son will probably sell them eventually. Right now, even he loves the dumb plot lines.
  4. Indeed the crease runs through the comic and that spline mess below the lower staple is a problem. Some scuffing at the bottom of the front and mild tear on the side on an otherwise nice looking comic. 3.5
  5. 5.0+ those color breaks on the upper right are pretty bad.
  6. I recall a seller in San Diego having three hole punched a ton of comics and then bound them back in the late sixties. Really unfortunate and done with the best of intentions. He had close to a complete set of Marvel silver age all bound up like that. I have to wonder how many still drift around. I bought a mess of JIM's from him that were not bound, all in lower grade conditions.
  7. The corners really hurt it and pressing won't help there. Small spine checks. 7.5-8.0 Nice book to own.
  8. now I'm not sure. I had not noticed the signature on the cover. Jeremy ...?
  9. 2.0 Aside from the really obvious stuff, something really bad is going on the the creases on the page with the hypnosis ad. It's not clear how deep that runs and why it's identical on the opposing page. Does that go into other pages?
  10. Of the 950 books I had, four wound up graded and slabbed. The AF15 was just bagged for close to fifty years. When it was still not slabbed, a very small chip popped off on a corner while I was putting it back in the bag. I don't think it would have changed the grade it finally got but it would not have happened if it was slabbed. Of the 950 books, probably 25 of them had a value higher that 2K. In retrospect, I would still not have slabbed all but three since I sold to a private dealer, not on Ebay. All three I did slab got 9.0 and higher and were forty plus years old. If you are slabbing to protect the comic, I can see it since humidity, handling and sunlight both can damage the things. If you're planning to sell, I can see it since it established graded value. Beyond that, now you can't read them.
  11. I'm clearly missing something. Besides the stamp, why isn't this a 9.0?
