  1. I bid on it, the 8, and the 9 with what I thought were reasonable bids but didn't even come close to sinking any of those battleships.
  2. Wow! Somehow I missed that. Would have bid for sure. I think mine is nicer but, at that price, I'd take another!
  3. I disagree. I think this is a great cover and, once the story is read, it becomes even better. It also is the first cover appearance of Uncle Scrooge; He's just in a bear suit.
  4. Not the last of the pink helmets but I do not see any pink pockets.
  5. Wow! The amount of time and money to recreate your efforts in completing this run would be astronomical now. Really, really Guinness Book of Records level impressive!
  6. I'd seen his house but I do not recall ever seeing his picture before. Posting again for those who have never seen The Man, The Legend.
  7. Man, I should get you to pick up my wins. It would shave months off of the delivery time.
  8. I agree with most of what you say. I consider most GA as blue chip by nature but there will still be sinking GA boats; Batman and Captain America will not be in them. Taking money out of the market, once most of the new money is locked up in value somewhere, is what will cause a decrease in value. I agree that if another trillion dollars hits the economy things will keep going up and my estimate of 4 years will be wrong. We will see if a new spending binge is forthcoming or if the spending spree is over after 2022.
  9. Can you imagine the outcry if someone tried to start a new tradition of placing the current owners initials on Pedigree comics.
  10. You are absolutely right. There is 2 trillion extra dollars in our economy right now. It might have started out as $1400 a person but that has been funneled up the pyramid and now filthy capitalists have more money than sense. Which is why collector markets of all stripes are going wild. I read the other day that even the stamp market is seeing a lift. When that money is spent, and put into the Scrooge McDuckian vaults of the 1%, will the prices be able to maintain their new levels? Some blue chips will, or their decrease will be slight, but others like ASM 100 are going to tank. ASM 100 in 9.4 is ~$1000 right now. I think 4 years from now it will go down to $750, if not back to $500.
  11. This is me. I'm maybe on a smaller scale but still, it is how I've managed money throughout my life. Bought comics that I liked, hopefully got a "Deal" on them, and used my 401k to invest in stocks. The returns on many of the comics I bought in the 80 and 90s are spectacular and way outdo my 401k performance. I love my comics but I do see a time when I will sell them and cash out. I had to sell some good'uns here recently to fund a new house and a move. Fortunately, the books I sold performed so well relative to what I paid for them I only had to sell half of what I had planned on selling. Once I sell my other house, if I do, I will go pick up a few that I sold; if I can buy them for less than I just sold them. If not, c'est la vie. That is life. I will use the money to buy some other comic book deal and I will be happy. I really hope I am able to buy into the Promise collection. There are a few books I am going to bid upon; some are easy to guess, some might surprise. No matter what though, this is an exciting collection to watch being brought to market!
  12. I've done a hell of a lot better in comics than in stocks.
