I know what you mean. I put in a "crazy" bid of 2k and thought I had a chance.

What is the worst thing you've ever found in a comic?
Badger replied to Get Marwood & I's topic in Comics General
I found what my mind just knows had to be insect poo in a GA book. Stained like pepperoni grease through the preceding and following 2 pages but existed as a less than 1mm reddish brown spec in the center. Got rid of the book (trash) because I just could not have it in my collection and I could not sell it to someone else. -

Heritage has been pretty good to me but unfortunately this is an eBay purchase. I'm speaking with the seller now. I don't really want to return it because I like the book but I definitely overpaid for it in its current grade. I'm trying to meet him halfway so hopefully the seller will be reasonable. -
I'll chime in and say forget the paranoia. Anyone who is not psyched about you posting your collection probably should go hang out in comic general. Just sayin'. Thank you for sharing! Its uplifting to see these completed collections. It gives me hope that I might complete a title some day.

Anybody else get nervous when you buy a raw book and it shows up with Microchamber paper in between the covers? I suspect this was broken out of a 6.5 slab and sold as a 7.5. Still a nice book. Update: I found it on Heritage. It was sold in 2015 in this slab. It was then sold again in September of 2017, raw, but listed by Heritage as a 7.5. At some point, between September and now, the book received a heavy object crease on the top right of the front cover. The crease goes through the 1st few pages. Should press out or at least be mitigated. <sigh> Do I keep it, keep it and get it pressed, or return it because it is not as described? -
The Savannahs I have are Uncle Scrooge and a few ASMs. All of the US front covers are as nice as the one I posted and the interiors are OWW with no halos. I actually read them before putting them up so that much I remember. That said, I don't remember staring at the back cover. I'll see if I can dig them out this weekend. I had planned on submitting a few of the better ones any way so this will kick that into gear. This is the Heritage picture from one of the lots. As you can see the covers are not "cheesy" but that doesn't men there isnot something up with the back cover.r.

Well, since Cap was frozen at the end of WW II, before All Winners Squad, Marvel says that Cap was an impersonator. It was yet another impersonator in the 1950s reboot of Cap. So, according to "official" Marvel canon they met in the GA for the first time in Avengers #71. Of course, that was the last time i heard and the story could have been changed yet again. -

Avengers #71? I don't actually remember them meeting in the GA. Anyone? -

So did Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett. Looking on the Interwebs I see that almost every comedian from a certain age did the bit at least once. I could swear I remember Bugs Bunny doing it but I cannot find the sequence. -

Awesome! I never noticed that before. Thanks for posting the list; for some reason it makes me happy that some issues have the notation.

I guess I really lucked out! All of mine are beautiful copies with no halos and OWW pages. That said, I will definitely keep in mind the experiences you all have related here and moderate my enthusiasm for Savannah.

Interesting. I would love to see a picture of a Savannah comic with this defect just so I could clearly envision it. Thanks for the reply!

Interior cover tanning makes sense given how they were stored. I never have understood why CGC does not make note of this defect on the slab. It is a major flaw and not factored into the PQ or in most grades. Thanks for the reply!

Would you mind expanding on the the Savannah comment? I own a hundred or so, not slabbed but certified, Savannah copies that are very nice. What are you seeing on Savannahs that I should be looking out for?
