    2001: A Space Odyssey #2

    • "Vira the She-Demon" – The issue starts in the distant past where the monolith instructs Vira on how to rule through fear and then shifts to the future where Vera Gentry is attacked on Ganymede by an alien squadron. Vera is transported into a California condo facsimile by the monolith. Here she rapidly ages until she dies and is converted by the monolith into an embryo-type creature referred to as a 'new seed' to explore the galaxy.

    The Amazing Spider-Man #263

1st app of Normie Osborn (later becomes Red Goblin II), see note below.
"The Spectacular Spider-Kid!" – (22-page story) – A chubby, outcast kid who used to idolize Doc Ock now dons a Spidey costume and his octopus arms to make a bid to become Spidey's sidekick. Things don't work out for the partnership but Spider-Man is able to help him out a bit in his personal life. Much to the relief of her husband and her friends, Liz delivers a healthy baby boy.
NOTE: Norman "Normie" Harold Osborn is born in this issue but he is not named until Amazing Spider-Man #265.

Some seller with 0% feedback is selling 3 individual Immortal 2 Zaffino variants for $76.25.  What is really shady is this seller is from China and is not charging anything for shipping.  Anyone who is dumb enough to purchase a copy from this seller, deserves what they get.

I've noticed a lot of low price sold  keys coming from that seller. I never clicked on the ad to check their feedback because I saw China as the country of origin. I wouldn't buy anything from there on ebay no matter how affordable the buy-it-now price is.

I guess it resembles the movie more, but Thor 390 is still the first time. I assume this is one of two things:

    1. People making something out of nothing because they want to sell their copies.

    2. People buying these because Thor 390 has jumped up considerably.

Either way, in a month these will be a fraction of what they are now.

Only difference from Thor #390 is that Steve Rogers was The Captain in the black costume in that issue as opposed to him being in his Captain America costume in Fear Itself #7. You're correct that it's a better resemblance to the scene in Endgame. I can't deny that the market is eating this stuff up in the interim.

    Well said!

Is 684 the first appearance of immortal hulk or an evolution of a previously established character?

    Same as Cosmic Ghost rider.

Yes, a character evolution. Immortal Hulk is still Hulk/Bruce Banner so he's not a new character like Cosmic Ghost Rider/Frank Castle. Just a better written character that everyone is gravitating towards. People like the Cosmic Ghost Rider but the persona didn't translate as seamlessly as Immortal Hulk.

  6. One reason Immortal Hulk #2 is more expensive than Avengers #684 is because the Immortal Hulk series was hot out of the gate. Then IH#2 pretty much sold out the week it came out. The Avengers No surrender story arc was a weekly title and the only hot issue initially was #676 which sold out on NCBD. I believe many retailers up their orders for the series so you have a lot of copies of #684 that were still on the shelves or in back stock for cover price by the time Immortal Hulk #2 came out.  Avengers #684 didn't get hot until well after IH#2 hit the $70 mark on Ebay and that's when the whole Immortal Hulk series heated up even more. Another reason that Avengers #684 didn't heat up sooner is there were some collectors foolishly thinking Immortal Hulk had no connection to the Avengers "No Surrender" story arc. Same writer so I don't see how they didn't know it was the same continuity. Avengers #684 didn't really start heating up until after Avengers #682 went up and well after Immortal Hulk #2 was headed toward the $100 mark.
