  1. I believe their new process is akin to throwing a dart blind-folded.
  2. Sampling of mine. The June 14th has been in G/E/I since Sept 17 The 10/25 actually arrived at CGC early in Sept. Part one went direct to shipped, never any other status. Part two was in received from 10/25 to 11/5 then direct to ship. While I'm extremely glad to have those 10/25 books back, I would have greatly preferred if my June 14th received order stuck in G/E/I was processed through - It's some seriously messed-up nonsense.
  3. I too would like to understand how it's a green and not a purple label Qualified Label (Green) A Qualified label is used by CGC for collectibles that have a significant defect that needs specific description, or to note an unauthenticated signature (one which was not witnessed by CGC). For example, a comic book with a missing coupon that otherwise grades 6.0 will receive a Qualified grade, avoiding a considerably lower grade. CGC would give this book a Qualified grade of 6.0 and a Label Text notation “COUPON MISSING FROM PAGE 10, DOES NOT AFFECT STORY.” Or, if the book is signed on the cover it may be noted as “NAME WRITTEN ON COVER IN MARKER.” Restored Label (Purple) This label is applied to any comic book that has evidence of repair so that it will appear as it did when it was in its original condition. Restoration can come in a variety of degrees, from slight professional restoration (A-1) to extensive amateur restoration (C-5). View the CGC Restoration Grading Scale
  4. Most of the time the art after coloring loses something compared to the OCA. Still nostalgia is more prevalent for the version one first viewed with their own eyes and that is normally the color comic cover.
  5. It's a legit concern. I have a handful of pedigrees I'd like to get re-holdered for the new label, for myself I have decided the risk totally outweighs the small reward.
  6. While OFF ended years before my time, the month after Crisis 3 was on-sale my LCS acquired a 70s War Collection. There was a large run of OFF (approx from 115-181) and the shop owner placed them in the 4 for $1 section. I picked up 123, most of the 52 pages and another 12 or so issues. Crisis 3 (which sadly "killed them off") acquainted me with "The Losers" and I wanted to read more of them so I grabbed whatever I had the dough to get. From the lot one of my favorites was 181, starting from around 2000, I waited many years in my search for a 9.8
  7. Hi, Hope it's OK if I ask questions+comments: 1) To which set was it added? 2) Was The Standard NON Chrome edition added as well? If it was not then IMHO started a new topic on https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/33-cgc-registry/ State the case and facts calmly and respectfully to "Matt G" mentioning that either both Chrome and the standard and plentiful NON-Chrome should be present in the set or even better that neither should be present. Given the Millenniums were released 16.5 year after COIE series ended seems reasonable to me at least. 3) The Book was a Diamond Seminar Exclusive in 2000 it does not seem very fair that an obscure Chrome variant added to an existing set. 4) Being a giveaway at a Diamond Seminar the book was never actually on-sale when it was new. Unless some sort of "master set" again it seems terribly unfair it was added. Non relevant comment: 21 years ago Crisis On Infinite Earths Millennium Chromium was the first CGC comic I ever purchased on eBay, my 1st 9.8, and my 2nd CGC book overall.
  8. Same deal as my above posting. Purchased raw when I was a kid back in the day sent this year and NOT pressed. A surprisingly difficult issue in 9.8. Possibly due to thin cover stock? Of the first Mirage 8 issues only #1 has less copies in 9.8 on the CGC census.
  9. Unboxed and scanned the remainder of my last arrivals back from CGC. In what now is called middle school (back then it was Elementary then Jr High) for reasons that I have no recollection I became a HUGE Honeymooners fan. As I recall so too did some of my buddies. When this appeared at my LCS back then I jumped on it. As with many of my posts book was purchased by me as kid back in the day, sent to CGC many years later and was NOT pressed. Great Photo cover. The first Triad issue also had a Gleason/Meadows photo-cover, sadly the remainder of the run had drawn covers, thus none with an Art Carney pic
  10. It's tough call and while on the whole I'd probably choose a brand new crystal clear Mylar, there is something about a book inside an original 1st gen CGC slab I really like. Not sure what it is exactly but despite the lack of clarity they give me a good feeling when I see them. On my "Oakland" Superman 234, which I purchased raw back in 1998, I see the defect that prevents it from being a 9.8. I'm positive it will press out and receive a 9.8, however I like the original slab too much to do that.
  11. IMHO a business model that makes it easier on a seller to list rather than a buyer to find and purchase is business model that is flawed! Ideally of course both would be simple, easy and fast.
  12. If so you apparently are living a great life - congrats. I don't sell comics so I've no skin in that game however as buyer I look at the mess the classifieds are here coupled with a lack of any decent search appliance and I usually give up after a few minutes. [sarcasm on] But as long as its easier for a seller rather than a buyer looking to spend money [/sarcasm]
  13. My Opinion, For Sale Threads should be: 1930's 1940's 1950's 1960's 1970's 1980's 1990's 2000's 2010-Present By decade it's so much easier - Just go by Month/Year in indicia or on front of slab.

  15. I like the idea of their items but they are out of stock until Feb/March 2022 on anything I wanted to try out. Lack of using a spell check I find unprofessional. What are procts [sic] ? As of right now we will not start to get new procts until February or March of 2022
  16. Agreed. There are competitors now offering 99% UV protected cases.
  17. Yep. The dealer type who are sitting on a rough estimated 100Million in art. For them setting an arbitrary price and getting that amount or higher is pretty much an ego thing. Easy to do when one does not actually need the coinage. P.S. The figure quoted is not an indicator those 4-5 current dealers are liquid for that amount, but they could be. Only a matter of allowing the Midas type hoarding effect lose it's hold. In this case Original Comic Art being the metaphor for Gold.
  18. 8.5 perhaps a 9.0. Not sure pressing will increase it's grade
  19. 3.0/3.5 - not sure a press will help and IMHO not worth the money due to the page rips and many color breaking bends and stress lines.
  20. If you price an item too high and it does not sell lower the asking price. Seems logical. Still if the reduced price remains way over market it likley still won't sell then the dealer risks it becoming stale. No fear there is always the OCA Dealer to Dealer merry-go-round. BTW, I'm sure if you offered 25k cash you'd get the Lim Gauntlet page without an argument
