  1. When you say beyond that price point, do you mean in terms of multiples? Or is $5K the entry level price for a camp book now, with books that have higher guide prices selling for lower multiples? A pedigree used to be a bonus; I'm not sure how or when we got to the point that the pedigree trumps the book. (Personally, I'd ditch a pedigree book for a non-ped any day of the week if I could upgrade or get better page quality or eye appeal. Apparently some collectors feel differently?)
  2. It looks like a pretty good list, but yhere are some that I've never heard of. (Olga Mesmer?)
  3. Red, orange, yellow and black L. B. Cole cover to red, orange, yellow, and blue L. B. Cole cover.
  4. Are you referring to characters that are still famous today? Despite the movie, most people in the US have never heard of Tintin. (Few anglophones, if any, would have recognized the character back in the '30s.) They'd definitely beat out Little Nemo. So would Blondie. So would the Katzenjammer Kids. Barney Google was pretty famous for a while (until Snuffy Smith took over his strip).
  5. There are only 8 copies on the census. This one is in a three-way tie for highest graded.
  6. I don't think I've posted this one in this thread yet. If I did, then I apologize for double posting.
  7. Were your congratluations tongue-in-cheek? Paying a stupid price for a book like that winning bidder did just encourages the flippers on eBay who think every book they own is worth a fortune. (That's if the sale was real; with eBay, you never know.)
  8. From a witch who wants to hypnotize a customer to a loser who wants to hypnotize a dame.
  9. That makes sense. I'm a little surprised that there's not ink at all visible on the logo, but maybe it rubbed off onto another comic while it was still wet.
  10. Electricity coming from a woman's fingers to electricity coming from a man's machine.
  11. I haven't been to a convention in years. There just isn't enough high-grade GA material at the cons here in Michigan. Most of the buy-it-now material on eBay is obscenely overpriced. Sometimes collectors will list their own books at fair prices, but I don't waste time with dealers/flippers.
  12. Those were more or less my thoughts: What the ****? I had been watching that book; my max would have been in the $150-$200 range. I picked up this one.
  13. The first two sentences of dialogue would sound really wrong out of context. Beating off an enemy soldier to beating off an enemy soldier.
