  1. Sal Buscema! Still haven't acquired a taste for Kirby, Toth, Schulz, Herriman, but its not for lack of trying.
  2. Because sometime down the road, somebody may think that the OP’s commission is a fake.
  3. Agree on Curt Swan not being able to get a gig drawing Superman, by today’s standards. regarding younger collectors, i suppose that would depend on your profession and pay. I hire many millennials on a contract basis as part of my job. They are paid surprisingly well, and have minimal expenses. If they were keen on picking up “Older” art, I’m certain they can pick up a few $20K pieces a year. They certainly have the funds.
  4. These recent posts about newer (younger) collectors, current titles and new artists (within the last 10 years) are things I’d love Bill Cox to explore in his YouTube videos. so many of us are between the ages of 45-55 and we’ve been collecting for 15+ years already, but it’s mostly the same old, same old. I don’t remember the last time I purchased a new comic, let alone flipped through the pages to see what the art looks like now , but I’m willing to give it a try based on some recommendations here, and who knows? Perhaps I’ll like it enough to pick up a page or two?
  5. The gap for asm 361 in 9.6 and 9.8 is not unique. In fact, it’s extremely similar to ASM 194, 238, 252, 300, etc
  6. Based upon current price, a pullback to $3K-$3.5K is a 30-40% drop and IS a crash!
  7. That's right. Reed Richards' analysis that Venom is its own entity was definitely a significant (and surprising) revelation at the time.
  8. Regarding the Larsen Spidey page, you'd have to pay me to take a page like that. ugh!
  9. Covid-19 breakout at the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) Canada Post sorting facility is still wrecking havoc with delivery times. Received a package today from upstate New York post dated Jan 12!
  10. You're in luck! HA is offering up a heaping mouthful of ooey, gooey goodness, just for you!
  11. So, based on recent sales captured in GPA, it seems as though Universal 9.8's keep on keeping on, at around $4.8K, while 9.2's-9.6's are on the rise. I don't pay much attention to lower grade sales, but I'm certain they remain very healthy. By the way, this time last year, you could get a Universal 9.8 for around $1.8-$2K, and 9.6's were readily available at $700 a copy. Other Copper books have experienced similar % increases in 9.8 (ASM 238, 252, 299, Secret Wars 8, Hulk 340, Thor 337). All I can say is we live in interesting times.
  12. Rules in thread wins over any PMs or negotiations. No Probation or HOS. Shipping: $10 in North America. Please inquire for International shipping rates. Payment: I strongly prefer money orders and cheques, but EFT and Paypal is OK. Cheques need to clear before books can be shipped
  13. There was a minor article in ComicCollector quarterly magazine (published by the same folks who published The Comics Buyers Guide) which stated that orders for ASM 252 and Thor 337 were only 3-4% higher than previous issues of their respective titles. The article was published shortly after ASM 252 and Thor 337 became 'hot' issues.
  14. ASM 10 unpublished ASM 262 unpublished (this unpublished line art cover was completed before the photo cover, and would have been the published cover had the photo cover proved too difficult) ASM 82 unpublished cover by Romita Sr...head's and tails better than the published cover by Marie Severin ASM 220 unpublished cover by Bob Layton. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-huPJ3wgcMqE/T81H4lMiArI/AAAAAAAAD-E/pDXVA7sv5vE/s1600/spiderman220inks.jpg
  15. Today is the last day this book will be available for sale. I have received the usual lowball offers, ranging from $500-$900, but I am a bit surprised that nobody has approached me with a serious offer...yet
