  1. Never seen any examples of multiple prelims of the same page. Looking through HA's archive's there are some prelims with significantly more detail (i.e. pages with nice Joker images) vs other prelims that do not have the Joker on them
  2. As prices for Bolland finished artwork continues to climb beyond many collectors budgets, it’s only a matter of time before we see his prelim artwork cracking the $10K barrier constantly. I’m thinking about Killing Joke prelims in particular, but some of his other cover prelims aren’t that far off, IMHO
  3. $72K for the Art Adams Tec 1027 wrap-around cover
  4. Selling price for a page before Covid might as well be a lifetime ago.
  5. Yes, you can, but it’s not the same thing, right? full disclosure: I sold two pages from THCOL a few years ago. One went for nearly the same price as this ‘postcard’ art piece, while the other was a multi panel panel with large images of Death- it went for $ tens of thousands.
  6. You thought the Death was 6-7x your expectations? This image was published and republished everywhere. It was far more than just ‘postcard art’ and it’s one of the top two images of Death. I was thinking $30K was the bare minimum for this piece. additionally, the Season of Mists page also did remarkably well at $60K. So even with all of the Sandman artwork available over the past year, the market seems to be absorbing it favourably
  7. Yeah, some very impressive prices. For those priced out of today's live bidding, there's still lots of goodies during Sunday's auction.
  8. 9.8 white pages pedigree copy ASM #1 is very hot in high grade for the past 12-15 months
  9. More than a 10% haircut b/c you have to factor in taxes (that's a lotta dough on a $1.5M book, even at a mere 5% state tax rate) + consignment fees (if any)
  10. Yeah, but the actual sale is for $1.38M once you include the buyer's premium. Still, well below the $3M I was expecting
  11. You are aware the same exact book sold in June 2022 for $1.62 Million, right? Definitely not a positive sign for the market.
  12. Wow, seems very low to me. I was definitely thinking $3M, but it seems like weak results on several key books, including the ASM #1
  13. Thanks for telling me I’m wrong about how I felt in Baltimore.
  14. Both Baltimore and HeroesCon are excellent comic book shows. once you get outside of a 2-3 block radius from the Baltimore convention, safety may be a concern so I would choose HeroesCon over Baltimore for that reason
  15. I think Mandel and Heritage should have inventoried and identified pieces from his collection as such in this auction and subsequent auctions. the collection is among the best, and prices will reflect a premium. Current prices on Mandel items in this auction are already strong
  16. I’ve done 5x my normal budget a few times. However, I will not do it if: 1. The seller is an individual (or brothers) with a ‘sketchy’ reputation, even if he (they) have my grail piece up for sale 2. Seller’s terms/payment stipulations are questionable/lopsided
  17. When was the last time an ASM 300 was graded a 9.9? seems like forever, especially considering the number of copies submitted in just the past 5 years!
