  1. The only good thing about this movie was Russell Crowe as Zeus. Christian Bale was … boring
  2. If you haven’t seen this movie in the theatre yet, don’t bother. Save your money and stream it for a lot less, cause you will feel cheated if you pay full fare for this junk
  3. There’s some very nice DC stuff in this auction by very significant artists. however, I’m not a DC collector so the star of this auction for me is the Ditko ASM page. She’s an absolute beauty and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes for $180K, possibly a bit more! thoughts? 🤔
  4. Usually, Nov-Feb HA have the weakest sales price results. However, this years’ Nov auction had shown otherwise and it will be interesting to see if the strong results continue through the doldrums of winter.
  5. You never know. I’ve been collecting long enough to see some very odd self-fulfilling prophesies come true
  6. Jan/Feb are historically the lowest price point months so we’ll see if it falls below $3K for a 9.8 Blue with white pages
  7. I should be, but I just paid for a lot of them to be McSigned 🤣
  8. Most recent sale for 9.8 blue, white pages = $3.6K 😳
  9. This! I don’t collect Jim Lee artwork, but I was certainly very enticed to bid on his Platinum Day Xmen pages. The were not the best examples, but honestly, they went way too cheap. Whomever bought the pages will do very well when re-selling.
  10. Hi, all; Given the sale of a page during the recent HA auction, I thought I’d post this again. I am looking for a nice Hulk/Wolverine battle page from this issue. Immediate funds available. not interested in any other pages from this issue. finder’s fee of $5K for information leading to the purchase of a page. thanks in advance 👍🏻
  11. He's joking 'cause he's paid that much for a page in the past
  12. Nice to see Garcia Lopez finally getting the love he deserves. He's been a fantastic artist for 5 decades.
  13. I could respond, and we can have 5-10 posts back and forth, but for the sake of expediency, you see things one way and I see them differently. I’ll leave it at that.
  14. Grape, that’s mostly correct although I recall some details a bit differently: Josh bid $95K on the ASM 238. The next bid increment of $5K by anyone would trigger the $100K necessary as a promise to the seller or something written to that effect by Josh. i wanted that cover very, very badly and like you, it reeked of conflict of interest. They lost my bid and a lot of my business shortly thereafter for this, and other reasons, by the way, the ASM 238 cover sold on clink in 2015 and this is important to note based on your experience/recollections. why is it important? Well, even though Jim Halperin doesn’t publicly state what he’s going after before or during an auction, he has maintained a CAF Gallery since 2007, and he’s been quite active in posting the artwork he’s purchased. He may not list every single piece he’s won, but based on what he’s uploaded, I think that is a type of transparency, starting 8 years prior to Josh’s bid notice on the ASM 238 cover.
  15. This auction is a strange one: 1. Its placement date is odd, sandwiched in between the usual Nov and Feb HA auction (which seems running a few weeks earlier this time, having a mid-Jan live bidding date) 2. The quantity of OA and comic book lots is significantly less than normal. Approx 210 OA lots, only 2 Bronze Age comic books and only 81 Silver Age comic books. Quite frankly, the grades on the majority of these books are sub-standard compared to the usual Signature auction. The Golden Age books in this offering are the exception, with some very nice GA keys included 3. The majority of the OA lots are DC, with some Brit OA, and misc Golden Age art from Fiction House 4. Aside from the Ditko ASM page, there's only 5 other pieces I'm tracking in this auction instead of the usual 100+ lots Don't get me wrong, there's wonderful art by Perez, Heath (incredible stuff) and others, but given the aforementioned, this auction seems like its an auction of overburden from the November auction. Possibly because HA didn't want to go over 1,000 OA lots by having these included therein? Is it just me or do others see the Dec auction the same?
  16. HI, all I've consigned some more great original art with Heritage. All auctions end Wed, Nov 23rd. Here's a brief summary of the pages along with a direct link to the page at auction: Mark Bagley Hulk #7p1 title page featuring the Hulk and halfling (The Leader's lackey). I love how the Hulk drinks his coffee out of a full coffee pot instead of a mug. Here's the link to the page at auction: Mark Bagley and Andrew Hennessy Hulk #7 Story Page 1 Original Art | Lot #49009 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Mark Bagley Venom #165p9 featuring Eddie Brock/Venom and Spiderwoman! Here's the link: Mark Bagley and Scott Hanna Venom #165 Story Page 9 Original Art | Lot #49010 | Heritage Auctions Steve Epting FF #586p19 half splash. Great battle page with absolutely gorgeous artwork by Epting. Link: Steve Epting and Rick Magyar Fantastic Four #586 Story Page 19 | Lot #49073 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Thanks for looking! Epting FF page Bagley Hulk page Bagley Venom page with Spiderwoman
  17. I suspect I know who I was bidding against on the Romita Jr ASM 236 cover… happy to push it up by several thousand i expect we’ll see it on his website for $60K soon enough
  18. More death in the family pages coming in the Jan auction!
  19. I know of numerous OA consignors that no longer do business with Clink. Hence the reduction from 9 pages worth of OA listings down to the present 4 pages. Likewise, Clink used to be the place for better results on slabbed comics, but HA has since closed the gap considerably and once again, less consignors now based on sales results over the past few years. Their business model of hitting consignors with a 10% fee has worked quite well for them during covid as prices shot up, but let's see what happens when prices continue to drop?
