  1. Buying a restored comic with photos of the comic before the restoration would be sweet. Whenever I see a comic with extensive restoration (pieces added, tear seals, reglossed, etc.) all I can think about is "What the heck did it look like before the restoration ?" .
  2. Many of the earlier comics are now in the public domain and can be read online. Comic Book Plus should be able to help filter which books you would want to actually own. https://comicbookplus.com
  3. .5 's are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.
  4. How would CGC know that the spine is completely split if it's covered with tape and reattached?
  5. An assigned grade of .5 doesn't convey any meaningful information about a book. If a book is complete and readable it deserves a better grade than that.
  6. Me too. My ASM #1 is disintegrating.
  7. The first ASM Annual #1 I bought was NM. It cost me 25 cents.
  8. You should get it while it's still affordable.
  9. What really puzzles me is why c***3 with a feedback rating of 288 bid $950 for it.
  10. Wow. ASM annual #1 CGC .5, pages missing, incomplete. 80 bids. Sold for $2300.00. What is going on here? https://www.ebay.com/itm/72-Big-Page-Annual-The-Amazing-Spider-Man-1-1964-/324542982077?hash=item4b9044e7bd%3Ag%3AXMgAAOSwHihf2wy~&nma=true&si=WtR9YFikVCwO4VYjmLKTbA6rXN4%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  11. Hi JF! Don't be sad. You'll find your issues.

    $5.99?

Most things I buy today cost about 10 times more than they cost in my youth. Some more, some less. The price of a comic is 50 times more. I don't think it's because of higher printing costs. Technological advances should have lowered the cost. As I see it, a comic should be about $1.20 by now.

Declining readership, lower ad revenue, and higher production costs will end printed newspapers and comics. I remember when our local newspaper was 7 cents for the daily issue, and a comic book was 12 cents.
  14. Ebay must have been offended by their own 1% Ebay Bucks program too. They decided to cancel it. Thank you for being a Bucks member, and a valuable part of our eBay community. We’re reaching out to tell you about upcoming changes to the eBay Bucks program. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to retire the 1% earnings reward on everyday purchases starting April 1st, 2021.
  15. I bought an item from a seller in Pennsylvania a couple of days ago. Got an email from Paypal saying that the payment was pending. The payment is less than 80 bucks. Have no idea why Paypal is dragging their feet on this one. "As part of our security measures, we review certain payments more closely to ensure our platform is being used properly and to minimize the potential risk for us and our customers. One of the payments that you sent is currently being reviewed. We are working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience."
  16. That's a beauty! I still remember the "Those who change" story 50 years after reading it! Some scientists discovered a way to transport objects through time. They were warned of the possible consequences of objects suddenly appearing in the past, but they chose to continue their test... GLWTS!
  17. I can't stand that stylized Spidey art. Pete would have to have eyes on the side of his head in order to see out that mask.
