  1. So, I just finished Invincible TPB #14 the Viltrumite War. What a great read this series is! I love that the Viltrumites came to earth, have basically passive/ agressively infiltrated the planet. Thanks again to all that recommended this series to me, definitely worthwhile.
  2. I think to be able to get a sketch CGC signature series the sketch has to be completed at a convention that has a CGC booth correct? no Thanks Pirate, I was not aware.
  3. glad you enjoyed it I don't know if I pimped it to you though I normally do pimp it ... Kirkman can't go wrong with more readers You had something to do with it. So yes thank you.
  4. I just finished reading trade #10, which collects 48 up to issue 53. Great stuff! Bought 11 and 12, and will get 13 likely next week. Great series, Thanks all who recommended.
  5. I just finished the 6th trade. I will be buying more on Thursday. I do enjoy the humor thrown in on ocassion, like the clone Mauler guys. I enjoyed when one was deformed, yet still cloned himself but it was very apparant who the original was. Their entire relationship changed. Funny stuff.
  6. I already owned the TPB #1-4 before seeing this. Just got 5-6 as well. I am liking this series.
  7. well I have finished the third trade, I definitely enjoyed it!
  8. Awesome, i will let you know what I think as I get through it. While I like it, it isn't like the Walking Dead where I could not put it down. I Had bought the first 2 trades of Walking Dead, got so hooked I bought the next 12 and read them all in one sitting.
  9. Just buy one trade first (volume one clearly... ) & see if you like it ... Well I went for it, bought the first 2 trades. Is decent so far, I am seeing the setup already: Innocence at first, soon to be lost as he discovers his new world. I will continue to read it. Thanks for the input all.
  10. Hi, I have never read Invincible, a friend has recommended the title to me as he claims it is an excellent read. What I really like to read: Miller daredevil Miller Dark Knight Returns Miller Year One Brubaker Captain America/ Winter Soldier Loeb The Long Halloween Kirkman The Walking Dead Before I go out and buy the trade(s), here is what I am hoping for. What do you readers of this title like about it? What is it about?
  11. speak english artboy! Why am I being involved? Heheh Great job Matt!
  12. Hey Sharon, Really appreciate this collection. Thanks for showing it. Been awhile since we chatted. Karl
  13. Weird Mysteries has some great covers, including that one! I love #2, 4, 5, 11...the list goes on
  14. Thanks, it's nice to finally scratch a book I've wanted off the list. Still hoping to upgrade to an 8.0 some day, but I'm more than happy with this copy for now. If you wanna upgrade to my 4.5, that'll get you more than halfway there! I'm happy to trade... funny stuff
  15. The system I used was to give the players a choice: roll 4 6 sided dice and discard the lowest, or assign 90 total points. Assigning 90 points was an average of 15 in each stat if you chose. Allowing the players to place their stats allowed them to decide what they want to play, rather than being forced to play something based on how they rolled. The 3 d 6 version is the way they designed it, but lets face it, the game was about you the player being a hero in a game environment. Rolling a 6 for my wisdom is anything but.
  16. Interesting. Is this worth picking up? Very much so, it is an awesome module. Let me know if you want more info/ scans
  17. I also wanted to add this module as one of the best I ever played in:
  18. Probably my greatest dungeon creation: a long forgotten dwarven temple hidden below a mine, called GrununderGron. The party ( looking for coin to finance gear purchases ) takes a job to clean out the town's mine. Miners broke through a section of wall and happened upon a lair of Grimlocks who proceed to take over the entire mine and claim it as their own. This is not the real story though, thousands of years ago a meteor crashed into this very spot in the world, it's rock properties are special and when the resulting ore is refined and fashioned into weapons they have special properties. Long ago Dwarves mined this area, and constructed a temple near the mine to honor the god of the sky who blessed them with the mighty gift. In exploring the mine ( 9 levels ...maps of which are not shown here ) the party will find clues that there is more here than just the mines, clues, strange pieces of rock on the deepest mine level that radiate magic if detected for, etc. Under the mines is the temple area. A dungeon I designed with 2 different layouts: before disaster, and after disaster. For during exploration of this dungeon at a certain time in the adventure an earthquake strikes the area, which changes the face of the dungeon entirely. Areas previously inacessible due to strong Dwarven magic open after the earthquake event. The end result of the adventure is the party clears the mine so it may commence it's normal operation, but they are to also discover the mineral/ rocks in the dungeon that will make excellent weapons / armor to aid in the fight against the evil forces ( War in the world ) During exploration they find markings on the very walls of the temple, telling the Dwarven story: These clues point the party in the direction of a great Dwarven city where they eventually go, and make new allies. In my campaign this tied in to perhaps the greatest published module I ever DM'd: The premise behind Awakening is 2 armies of Dwarves are at war, over this area. In ancient times it is known the dwarves who resided in the "Mountain" here had control of a great powerful god of fire, who helped them fashion powerful items. The evil Dwarves are here in the mountain to Awaken this god, and gain power. Unknown to all involved in this adventure is that the god is actually a Volcano, and in the end if the ritual of summoning is not preformed exactly correct, instead of controlling the "creature" it basically goes crazy and erupts destroying everything in the area. The design of the module is brilliant, great complicated maps and an excellent mystery the party must discover as they covertly manuever through the dungeon trying to out pace the evil dwarves who are also searching the ruins. Great stuff.
  19. I went so far as to play the game via an online utility that provided you with a virtual desktop surface. You could upload images, draw on the desktop, place miniatures. The system even had a dice roller system at the top. I can't recall what it was called... Was fun but I still had the same challenges: getting people to show up to the game. The first session 2 of my 7 players were late and didnt arrive until 30 minutes later. Then the next session only 1 of 7 arrived on time, the rest all arrived 30 minutes late the reasoning was that since those 2 players didn't arrive until 30 minutes later we all can arrive late. 3rd session everyone was late, and I determined it to be the last. I as the DM / Gamemaster took alot of my personal time to prepare the evening's adventures and none of my players can arrive on time i just decided to not bother. Is to bad, D&D was a great game. But it is a thing of the past.
  20. In my case it was always me simply because its the role I wanted to play and the others wanted to be the players. I loved being the DM or Storyteller or whatever iteration it was for that game. I loved spending my time creating a backstory, NPCs (Non player characters) for the group to interact with, peppering my world with little nuances. What it really boils down to is a creative process that was satisfying to me. Not to mention I actually love reading the games rules and accessories like Scottie reads technical manuals. I spent hours reading and rereading the rules I could quote just about every little thing. Its really a collaborative effort though...your players have to be involved but there are tricks to getting them involved if they are reluctant or shy. Im a gaming dork. Exactly the same for me. I wanted the role, volunteered for it, and was successful. I devised a great campaign, have had multiple players play through it, and all enjoyed it. The greatest challenge D&D faced was technology replaced face to face gaming: getting the players together became such a struggle. Loving this thread, and oh yes I will contribute to it.
  21. I have been interested in picking up a copy of this book. I will have to wait until I have some funds, but my interest is of course because I have worked / still work as an artist. Love that cover. Great pick up Darth. We have such similar taste in books
  22. Nice!!! Where did this one come from? After FAC 20, this is probably Story's most well known cover! DM 19 has always been a favorite of mine. This particular copy I picked up a few years back from a fellow collector in a trade. Extremely nice!
  23. Wow, very cool! Never seen that cover before. Hard to tell what exactly is going on there. Looks as if they are in a diving bell of some sort and being gased. Also I see test tubes in the background as if they are in some giant's laboratory! Looks like a Christmas tree ornament to me! And those people are stuck inside it. Awesome cover
