  1. That sounds about right to me BUT the inner features (eyes-nose-lips) look too perfect! I'm very impressed to say the least... It's definitely impressive. It takes a lot of discipline to do an illustration that large with such fine detail. bear in mind that we are looking at a small photo of the drawing. I guarantee if you were up close and personal looking at the drawing you could see that it was drawn.
  2. This one that was on Comiclink recent focused auction. http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2Fauctions%2Fbids%2Easp&id=950985 I had a 9.4 raw but sold it at the recent Edmonton Pop Culture comic convention. I love this book, the Red Sonja portrayed inside is my favorite: she is a flirty "swashbuckler"
  3. I just purchased a Conan 24 CGC 9.4 white pages book
  4. I think his method of creation is as follows: 1. take a photo of subject 2. use an overhead projector to project the image larger onto working surface. 3. Lightly trace/ draw the image to the working surface 4. fill in / finish the drawing referencing the photo for details.
  5. Saw the 2nd ep last night. I'm enjoying series so far, though I do have a gripe about the show's overtly anti-wealth, anti-business theme. Every single business leader in Crescent City seems to be a criminal, Oliver's rich kid sister is a vapid party girl and even his rich mom is evil (I think it's pretty obvious that her new husband will be revealed as a baddie at some point too). Heck, even Ollie himself before he found redemption on the island was a cheating, brawling, substance abusing playboy and his dad (who got into bed with all sorts of criminals to build his empire) had no qualms about killing an innocent man before turning the gun on himself. The only wholly sympathetic characters are Laurel, who takes on legal charity cases, and her blue collar cop father. And at the end of THAT episode cue the current hot top 10 tune that you can buy on itunes. Did we just watch 90210? I hate the CW
  6. Yes I was impressed how closely they stayed to the comic, and yet watching it happen live seemed to still be "fresh". Great episode!
  7. Deathstroke, Deadshot and China White. Who are 3 wrestlers that have never been in my kitchen Alex.
  8. I was worried about that. I predicted months ago it would be formulaic and be just like Smallville / 90210. Sorry to hear I was right
  9. ehh, maybe.. but then again the governor only appeared in less than 130 pages of the series (around 6 full issues or so) and he was responsible for the death of what, dozens and dozens of people - the main character's wife and new born child? I don't think he was a chump at all.. Agreed. Negan disgusts me as well though. I can't describe how I feel after reading issue 100. Angry. Disgust. re-hooked... WD was kind of fading for me in the last year.
  10. still far for me, 4-5 hour drive each way. If they will ship it I like it. Thanks for the link
  11. That's cool! I have the standalone version of this spinner, and if this wasn't so far from where I live, I'd make an offer on it. The standalone of this particular rack is one of the coolest standalone's. The ho-hum graphics on the topper is overcompensated by its function, as the two row, twenty pocket standard on the standalone version of this rack has side pockets for digests. I use it for Archie's and Harvey's. I like it, but the seller wont ship, is pick up only. Rather far for me to go ...
  12. Have that auction bookmarked as well. My issue is 300.00 ... reserve not met. She is wanting a lot for them and as of yet wont sell them individually.
  13. I have that very advert bookmarked, I assume there is no point in me calling since it sounds like they wouldn't ship it to Calgary, why would they send it north of that?
  14. I am considering going to a custom fabricator, just to see what the cost would be. If it could be made for 2-300 bucks I would be ok with that. While I would love to have the old golden aged one Comicwiz linked ( beautiful by the way! ) I really doubt I will find one local to me ( Edmonton AB Canada ) and the shipping will be horrendous.
  15. Hi all, I have been looking for a comic spinner rack for my home / collection and I am wondering if such a thing exists that will hold golden age and silver age books? The racks I have seen are all modern size only.
  16. Sounds familiar! Check inside the walls? I once found a batman #2 between the walls of a house I renovated. Was in amongst other newspapers and magazines, was used as makeshift insulation.
  17. I had the football game on the left. Played it with my brother in the car in the backseat on long trips on summer holidays with the parents when we were kids. We got so good at it that you literally always scored. We also had a hockey game like it.
  18. Re: people wandering off alone on the farm. For months, the farm has been a relatively safe place for the group, other than the one walker in the well, it has been a safe haven, so that they wander within the confines of the fences doesn't bother me at all.
  19. It is just the way TV is these days it is all about profit and making $$$. Make 6 shows, air them, if you made money on those then make the next 6. And I completely agree it takes the interest away. Adding to the problem is after reading the latest WD trade ( #15 ) I am very ho-hum. What a whole bunch of nothing going on. Adding this lengthy break in the show and maybe this is a good jump off point.
  20. Absolutely stunning work. Whoever is up next is one lucky SOB. I love these to, my fave so far is the second row left one. Beautiful piece Matt.
